Galu Kinondo Beach — Attraction in Kinondo ward

Beautiful beach with soft white sand. Can get crowded with kitesurfers, unfortunately. If you enjoy snorkelling/freediving, check the tide times and swim out at low tide.

Maximum depth of water is around 4metres, at distance. It’s around a 200m/250m swim to the better sections of the reef. The area directly in front of Salty Squid/Blue Marlin, and 50m to the left, has better reef segments.

To the right hand side facing the water, the reef is not as good and you have to swim much further to reach it (300/400m). Really good restaurants on the beachfront to get food too!...

During Covid there is more beachboys than tourists, but have some understanding for these poor people and let's share with them little bit of your time. Otherwise the whole beach is amazing, it does not matter where yoh go, everywhere is superb soft sand which feels incredible. The sea is good for swimming or for other water actevities and the place is not crowded by some bars or hotels. The hotels are hidden behind coconut trees so you have a feeling...

I enjoy beaches that allow for long leisurely walks, seeing that I don't enjoy swimming in salty water and Galu beach allows for this. The beach isn't crowded, there aren't too many beach boys and the place is clean. There are a few restaurants along the stretch,and it is quiet enough to relax with a book.
