I loved my stay in the blue marlin beach hotel. For kiters it's perfect, as you can just spill out of the hotel into the beach with spacious white sandy gorgeous beach. For swimmers it's not so comfortable as I have no idea if the kiters jetting by can steer their kite well enough not to hit me, and there are many kiters here. But that's not the hotel's fault.
I liked the bar/ restaurant/ chill out areas as well. All the staff have been friendly. When something didn't work we let the staff know and it was fixed. (Eventually you might have to remind them again but it's not a big deal. Hakuna matata). Breakfast eggs and fruits were lovely, but the rest didn't change much. Pancakes/toast, sometimes potatoes / spinach / zucchini, butter and jam.
As for the room, our 3-bed-room was very spacious. There is a big terrace and a small fridge. Wifi came and went, slow too, but I missed neither internet nor tv much so it's alright. To me it's clean enough, please don't compare it to a pricey hotel in, say, Austria. It's hard to have everything sparkling and gleaming in the sea side tropics. Same with insects and animals, yes you can exterminate all of them for your guests but that will require lots of poison.
Overall, it was a good stay. The best part was the friendliness and breakfast omelettes, followed by a wonderful beach area. I'd stay there...
Read moreService was excellent I don’t blame the staff. Over priced food for not much of a reason. Order oatmeal and yogurt it was just dry oats plain yogurt and banana they didn’t have the chia seeds. Had to ask for something to get this bland concoction some taste so they brought me honey.
What’s was the real topping to the meal wasn’t the missing chia seeds. It was 600kes on the menu and at the checkout they charged me 750kes. That was not told to me before hand. coffee was also the more expensive than the most expensive shop in town.
My waitress was wonderful and I tipped here well but 750kes for small bowl of 1/4 cup of rolled oats and some plain yogurt and 1/5 of a banana. You can do better.
I appreciate your long winded cordial apology or how you’re updating the menu etc. How the staff should have explained the menu changes when I ordered. But the reality is, the menu is the price agreed and charging more at the checkout false advertising. Admit that before giving excuses and I’ll agree that this place isn’t just gouging customers cause it’s next to the beach.
I have no issues paying for good food, good service and fair prices I only received one of those and my review is a...
Read moreI was about to rate five stars because I really love this place. It's a very beautiful hotel, on a wonderful and peaceful beach... Also perfect kite surf spot. I went there twice. I would give 4,5 stars only because the rooms at the ground-floor on the pool are a bit basic. On the first floor they are better. But I have only been in the budget rooms, they have different types of rooms. The restaurant has a wonderful view, same the sunbed area, it's a little paradise corner. Food is good but in my opinion a bit overpriced. The breakfast has a good assortment. I love their crepes but I'd recommend to change the yogurt brand! Cocktails are very good and cheap, I recommend rock lobster and Piña colada. Beach Boys are not a big problem, they are well managed by the guard. Important to notice that you can use the swimming pool also in the evening because they treat it very early in the morning, so after a tiring snorkeling day you can come to relax there at any time in the evening or night. Internet connection quality should be improved. I absolutely...
