One of the most disappointing experiences:||We had booked a honeymoon suite a month in advance, but when we arrived, there were two separate beds in the room. Reason: hotel is fully booked!!|The honeymoon package promised flowers in the room, but we found dried flowers on the bed, which made it uncomfortable to sleep. The orange juice was not fresh, and the cake was far from being good quality.|Getting toothpaste was a constant struggle as it was frequently out of stock, and first time we did get it, it was dry.|The air conditioning in the room was not working.|The room's carpet was not properly cleaned.|Some of the staff were unfriendly.|There were frequent power outages during the day and night. When the electricity came back on, the room lights would turn on, forcing us to wake up to turn them off. Surprisingly, the hotel didn't have a generator like other hotels.|TV channels would go off for couple hours, twice a day.|The restaurant doubled as a smoking area, leaving non-smokers with no choice but to sit outside on uncomfortable bar chairs. Even if there were available tables outside, we needed special permission, and the waiter would continually remind us of their "kindness" in allowing us to sit there.|Coffee during breakfast would mysteriously disappear with the explanation of being "out of stock," catching us by surprise with no prior notice.|The only redeeming quality...
Read moreGreat location with excellent view to the sea and the cornishe, with a selection of cheap (i.e. side-walk stall, McDonald's) to high-end restaurants and a large supermarket all within hundred metres from the hotel. Has underground car park (payable per night) but it's secured and safe. We had a Junior suite which came with a private balcony, large sitting room and kitchenette and a walk-in closet. Breakfast is served in the top-floor restaurant with outdoor seatings to admire the magnificant view to the Mediterranien sea. The breakfast is mainly vegatarian with the only scrambled eggs and boiled eggs served as 'non-vegetarian' options. We found the restaurant staff to be very polite and accommodating: we happened to mention one day that there were no watermelon on the fruit selection, and they brought out a large bowl of watermelon the next day and everyday for the rest of our one-week stay there.
A couple of things I didn't like: one night we found a live cockroach running across the floor. I managed to catch it and the called the reception to send a caretaker to take it away. Not a good sign when you see something like this in a hotel. Secondly, access to hotel wifi is time and device-limited; only 2 devices per guest, which is limited as we have 6 devices...
Read moreThis hotel has it all. Good, Bad and Ugly, Let me explain:||1. Good || A. Location: Along the Med. Close to the central area of the city.|| B. Breakfast: Nice mix, small number of choices, but good choices. But the best thing about the breakfast was its location at the rooftop restaurant. For my, what a beautiful way to start the day. Awesome view! Relaxing. So enjoyable.|| C. Price for a waterview room offered in this hotel.|| D. Great maintenance staff. Had issues that were taken care of immediately.|| E. Our room was old, but clean. ||||2. Bad|| A. Made a local call from my room phone = $4 US. Really???|| B. Hotel is being remodeled. Needs much work. || C. I was happy to have a room in the 2nd floor. It you had a room under the rooftop lounge/bar you may experience loud music. We did not. Perhaps ask for lower floor. Or, enjoy the music.||||3. Ugly|| A. View from my room - opposite of the ocean is a really ugly, half-built building. Sadly, much ugliness abounds.||||Our experience was good. So I gave it a rating of 4/5. It is a 3 star hotel with the possibility of...
