There are two hotel congress’s. In my review, I’m referring to the newer one.
My wife and I were suddenly woken up from a deep sleep just before 11:00 pm due to a really loud fire alarm on the 4th floor, we are in room 402. We called the reception desk over 6 times with no response as no one answered. The phone line was not busy. Why is this? Because no one answered, we headed downstairs thinking there was a fire or an emergency. We then saw a reception staff member and had several questions for her. First question was “what happened?”. She then replied “Everything is fine, the alarm was fake”. Just after answering she immediately left us at the reception desk heading upstairs. We still needed services but she abandoned us. We waited 15 minutes for her to get back but she never came. We both have busy lives and have to be up really early. We lost precious time, sleep and was neglected of hotel services. We documented the event with video and photos of the incident. What are you going to do about this situation??? The front desk responded stating “we’re sorry” without offering any sort of accommodation, asking how we’re coping with the situation, or asking if there were anything that they could do to help accommodate. Also the breakfast menu never changes, same thing everyday. Occasionally they’ll switch out desserts during our 10 day stay. Had a great roof top view with private balcony access. But refrigerator didn’t work, no microwave, and staff were rarely at the front desk, also rarely answer their phones. The cleaning ladies there were among the most professional, very well attentive to detail, kind and down to earth that we’ve ever experienced. If you needed anything from them, they instantly helped without question. Definitely took care of them well with tips. To the cleaning ladies…. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we wish you and your families a happy holiday. Very good location, walking distance to...
Read moreMy stay with a 4.5 month old baby was ruined on the first day to the point that on another day we had to leave the hotel and find another one. AC was not working in two rooms we were offered. Third room they offered we stayed a night and in the morning when I asked what's the situation with rooms, receptionist told me that this room is more expensive and they told us that we must pay the difference. Of course I said no. Then they offered another room where guess what, the AC is not working again. Bare in mind that it was 30-32 degrees celsius outside. Me with luggage packing and unpacking, with a baby on my hands was moving from one room to another one without any help. No one offered to help I had to ask myself. Eventually we had to leave the hotel and find another one. Which was so stressful and hard on last minute notice. Thanks god after me raising my voice in a lobby they arranged to refund me money. Obviously they charged for first night. At one point manager or head of reception decided to arrange the meeting room and didn't care about us standing in the lobby trying to sort out our situation. But didn't offer anything for the inconvenience and stress caused. Not even glass of water or to arrange a taxi to get from one place to another. Staff absolutely lack of empathy, organisation and problem solving especially in such a delicate situation where mother with a baby who is hot and tired and wants to sleep left with ruined holiday in the lobby trying to sort out next...
Read moreOur stay at Congress Hotel was simply outstanding. The room was immaculate, and the added bonus of a balcony during a sunny September gave us stunning panoramic views of Vilnius. For first-time visitors, I highly recommend this hotel—you’ll fall in love with both the accommodation and the city. Its central location makes exploring Vilnius effortless, as most attractions are within a 20-35 minute walk.
The amenities were of high quality, from spotless glassware to pristine restrooms. Breakfast was included, and I must say, it was delightful. As a coffee enthusiast, I especially appreciated the excellent coffee, indulging in two cups. The fresh pastries, eggs, and baked tomatoes were equally impressive. A special mention to Paulina at the bar—her warm, professional service and cheerful behaviour elevated the experience. She truly deserves recognition for her customer care.
The reception team also left a great impression, with smooth check-in and check-out processes. One receptionist was particularly thoughtful, seamlessly switching between Lithuanian for my fiancée and English for me. The deposit policy via card at check-in was very reasonable and transparent. We also enjoyed a couple of beers from the minibar at very reasonable prices, made even better by the pleasant balcony atmosphere.
Overall, we couldn’t be happier with our experience at Congress Hotel. My heartfelt thanks to the team, especially Paulina and the gentleman at reception, for making our stay...
