Borneo Vista Suites Hotel by BV Hotel — Hotel in Borneo

Booked via hotels.com. Part of the description is for a completely different location in KK. When I tried to find the location by using Grab, it put the hotel in multiple locations around KK. After over an hour of looking around google maps and unsuccessful attempts to contact the hotel and hotel.com, we took a guess that the hotel swimming pool matched a satellite view via google maps and referenced the Sky hotel which is in the same building. When I said this at reception on checking in, they visibly didn’t care.||After being reminded of the charges I would incur for all eventualities including losing the room key card, we checked into a large apartment. Fine, but it smelt of stale cigarettes. Not much warm water in the shower.||At checkout, the staff were extremely rude, and didn’t communicate why they took so long to check us out. I had to ask several times. There was also a conversation from the person bringing our bags downstairs that indicated an annoyance at helping and an expectation that I would be tipping. Recently in Kota Kinabalu I had booked a room at the Borneo Vista Suites. On arrival in K. K. International Airport I purchased a taxi voucher ( will be the subject of another review) and walked to the taxi rank. When the driver looked at the voucher he had to ask another driver the location this sort of raised a bit of alarm but unfounded when we arrived.||The Borneo Vista Suites shared or were part of the Sky hotel and there were two reception desks in the lobby.||The suite was big 2 bedroom and looked as if it had been renovated sometime recently. Bed king size with shower and toilet having access from the main bedroom, second bedroom was a single bed and doubled as storage for suitcases. Kitchen had large refrig. microwave hotplates and plenty of cupboard space.||Lounge had a couple of chairs, another bench with padded cushions wich served as somewhere for a bit of a nap and a nice tv.||The major downside was the carpets in the hallway were old, stained and looked in need of a really good industrial shampoo or replacement.||Good value pleasant stay with easy access to...

A 3stars hotel can only earn a 5stars rating simply because it is better than they are rated, more convenient, facilities are in good orders and most importantly, staffs are doing their jobs with their hearts. The location is 7mins on foot from food centre with lots of local food (e.g. famous Banana Leaf Restaurant) KFC and decent foot massaging house. Imago Mall is just 11mins on foot, hundreds of brand name shops, food court on the 3rd floor, choices of restaurants in the basement plus a bigger than average supermarket. Probably because this hotel is surrounded by Bank HQs therefore the pedestrian walks are so much better than big guns like Le Meridian and Promenade.
