We recently stayed at Bora Bora Guest House and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. The reason we chose Bora Bora Guest House is mainly because of its unique vibe of having a place to stay with nice open-air bar and grill just beside the beach. For that we are really loving it even though the food is a bit pricey, but the view is totally worth it. We booked 2 rooms, double and triple room. The issue started with having the air conditioning in the triple room not regularly serviced leading to uncomfortably warm conditions. Call the manager on duty and we manage to change to another room. But mine you, this other room also have the same issue. However, as all of us are already tired from a long trip from KL to Penang we did not give any fuzz about it anymore and just try to get some sleep. Around 1am in the morning, suddenly the air condition stopped working and we keep on trying to turn it back on but to no avail, the air condition start generating hot air and all of us start sweating. Call the manager again and the reaction that we got from him is so rude and unprofessional. Long story short, all of us end up sleeping like sardine in the double room. Luckily, we brought inflatable mattress with us to avoid sleeping on the hard floor. Overall, I would not recommend Bora Bora Guest House to anyone seeking a comfortable and enjoyable accommodation experience. The rude staff, coupled with faulty air conditioning, make it a regrettable choice for travelers. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere for a more...

I didn't know there's a no-reservation-rule after 7pm, so I went in there and waited for my friends. There was suppose to be 10 of us, as 5 of us reached early, we started to order food and drinks (not alcohol because we're going to drink when 10 of us are here) while waiting. After 1 hour of waiting, our friends finally arrived but when I wanted to order 3 buckets of beer, I was told to leave the place, basically the reason the person told me is "we sit too long". They immediately let other customers to sit on our table. When I try to explain that my friends has already arrived and is looking for a place to park, I was ignored. Even when I wanted to order something, I was being ignored too.
Maybe people are having bad mood for during a hectic service. However, I feel extremely terrible after this incident, end up we left early because our present seems...
Read moreAs a restaurant/bar yes, if you want to stay here then avoid at all costs, unless you are happy to sleep at 1am every night, have constant music playing from their opening time. 1970's decour, the beach sand is inside the rooms everywhere, have to pay extra to have towels changed and room made up. Yes I know it's a guest house, but there has to be a basic living level.
The listing says there is a restaurant and bar onsite, but no mention that it will disrupt your stay, also says soundproof rooms, more like sound amplified.
Better to list as a hostel with private bathroom, or for backpackers, and to state no kids allowed, as I'm sure you would want your kids to sleep by at least 10pm, this is when the DJ starts.
More of an accurate listing would have avoided all these issues.
Easily could have refunded a couple of nights after we had paid for 5 and stayed...
