Nice facilities but spoilt by horrendous management team who walk around like they are prison guards, fining people for the slightest ‘infringement’ of their crazy, nonsense rules. They regularly resort to intimidation tactics, especially towards women and children, when you try to question their manner. I honestly don’t know how they still have their jobs with the amount of complaints they receive on a weekly basis. The whole team needs replacing if things are to improve.
Apartments are old now with dodgy water leaks in all buildings, constant broken elevators and missing parcels due to thieves living there.
Another problem is that many of the people who own apartments here are an older generation who bought apartments in a condominium that includes a playground and children’s swimming pools but hate it when kids are around them…. Make it make sense! Kids are very much second class citizens here and are scolded for everything they do. Don’t bring kids here.
The place lacks fun, staff are rude and it is massively overpriced now. I just left after 5 years here and everyone I know in the condominium are unhappy and waiting out their contracts so they can leave. Don’t believe the 4.4* rating, 5* reviews are left by landlords wanting to keep their rental price sky high.
Definitely much nicer and more pleasant places to live in Penang. I’d give this one a miss and...
Read moreDo not live here if you want to have friends or family visit you. It is forbidden to bring any guest at any time into any pool at Quayside. Doesn't that sound reasonable to you? That is the rule at Quayside, believe it or not. We moved into Quayside 2 weeks ago and regret it, because we can't invite any of our friends or family to visit us for a day to spend by the pool. My 13 year old daughter tried to go to the pool today with her school friend, but her friend who doesn't live at Quayside was forbidden from using the pool. I've traveled and lived all over the world at many places with pool areas nicer than Quayside, but NONE would forbid residents from bringing a guest to the pool. It's ridiculous!
Also, I've read other posts in this feed that feel security measures and the number of security personnel are over the top at Quayside. I agree completely. Too much security creates an uncomfortable atmosphere in all the...
Read moreI’ve visited many condos across Penang and KL, but I’ve never encountered security staff as rude and disgraceful as those at this property. It’s appalling to see cleaners and gardeners being treated like prisoners—searched thoroughly as they leave after an honest day’s work. These are hardworking individuals simply trying to make a living.
On two separate occasions when I came to visit a friend, I was treated with extreme rudeness. The guards shouted at me in Bahasa Malaya, despite my attempts to explain that I only speak English. They were completely unhelpful when I asked where to park a motorcycle or where I could wait for my friend.
It’s disheartening that my friend just moved into this building—this treatment makes me not want to visit again. For a place that claims to be the “best-managed property in Penang,” this level of disrespect is truly shameful. What a...
