Price (4.5/5): Value for money, stayed 2 nights.
Room (5/5): Comfortable bed, clean room and bed (no lice), drawers to keep my clothes, basket of toiletries, small but really unique tall room, themed Taiwan, I had a nice view, nice TV with lots of movies to choose from. I was so relaxed and happy to stay here. Wonder what the monthly rental price is (saw one of the reviews)? They have many types of rooms, the largest at ground floor that can house a small family with an en suite kitchen. I didn't really use the common kitchen, but it's fully equipped. The sitting room is nicely designed too. It's a lovely house. Nice fake grass to walk on outside. They may have laundry service I'm not sure - you can ask.
Shower (4.5/5): Shared, but when I stayed, there were no neighbors to share with the first 2 days, so it felt like my en-suite. The bathroom also is uniquely designed, very tall. Clean (this of course depends on the ppl you are sharing with), good pressure, hot water. Eye rolled a bit when I heard a neighbor banging their door x 2 and walking to/fro bathroom the 2nd night (corridor is a little echoiec -maybe carpets will help?). Otherwise, pretty quiet my 1st two days.
Wifi (4.5/5): Good, smooth, fast, but I was glued to the TV most of the time. Add more movies!
Location (4/5): Few minutes walk to both Island Hospital and Penang General Hospital. I always wished I could rent a place like this, near my work place. The only thing is (good) food is limited at a comfortable walking distance, so need to Grab food. It's 3 min walk to YMCA if you are bored and need to learn some line dancing or languages at a small fee. Opposite Penang GH is a park for jogging.
Free car park (4/5): Limited (maybe 3 only, I was lucky)
Service (5/5): Ashley was really nice and helpful and answered all questions speedily and efficiently. Her staff were also pleasant. I was kinda dragging my feet and bagpack to leave. I hope they keep up with this amazing standard of cleanliness, comfort and service....
Read morePositive: the house is nice, very modern and spacious, a lot of furniture in the kitchen for making tea or breakfast, we also appreciated the quick answers from the owner and her help to change the room because of a door lock issue. Negative: there could be a better management of both bathrooms (one was full of hairs, bad smell and use of water heater not clear, the other full of water in the floor with no toilet paper) as it is based on guests cleaning, and the other guests were not respecting it at all… and towels available in the room upon check in without having to ask for them would also be appreciated. Recommendations: a bit more basic furniture in the rooms (hair dryer, more plugs, bedside lamp…) would be appreciated, and a better cleaning of the bathrooms with toilet paper etc. We also never met the owner and we think that it can be more comfortable to see more presence and speak face to face if required. After such improvements, the place can become...
