This is a pleasant and bright cafe located along a busy road and offers limited and convenient parking lots in front. They serve mostly popular local food, with some Western dishes as well.
They have at least 5-6 servers here. However, they seem to have their backs glued and stuck against the wall..They voluntarily approach you to assist unless you wave for attention. This is a scan and order.
The servers merely plonk the food on your table. You are expected to go to them to make your payment at the cashier's counter.
I ordered their shredded chicken and prawn hor fun. Disappointed it was not piping hot when it arrived. I searched for and found one singular small prawn buried under my shredded chicken and hor fun. I asked the server if the kitchen might have missed out adding - at least - one more small prawn. He never returned with another prawn nor an apology for my audacious expectation. After all, the menu did state clearly shredded chicken and prawn, in singular term. Perhaps the high cost of seafood these days make my expecting 2 prawns too unrealistic.
They have a good selection of drinks on the menu here, except that the nutmeg I ordered was not available, neither was barley, and their soy bean isn't freshly cooked but comes in a packet.
Luckily they do serve hot water. Obviously it is chargeable at a dollar, as expected, a normal practice these days in most f&b outlets.
Overall, a nice and...

Toast bread with butter kaya RM4.80 and half boiled egg RM3.80 were poorly made. Not interesting at all. 1 star
Local black coffee Kopi o was mediocre. 2 stars
Roast duck rice was too much bones. There were only 2 slices of the whole meat portion. RM12.90 was too pricey. Taste wise also not justified as the skin and inner fresh was tasteless. 1 star
Famous tiger Fried koay teow was at doubt to me. The standard was totally out from the authentic tiger. Although we could get extra chives and spring sprouts at no extra cost but this generous gesture could not overcome the poor taste. RM12.90. 1 star
Golden soup noodles were the star of the restaurant. We found it very interesting and special. The broth was full of fragrance of chicken essence. RM15.90. 4 stars
Wanton mee was mediocre. The sauce and Wonton were nothing special. 2 stars
Dessert black glutinous was...
Read moreKopiKia has been one of my favorite go-to places for breakfast and lunch. I have been supporting them since their first outlet in Promenade, Bayan Lepas. Their food and coffee leave a traditional taste in your buds. Coffee is very kaw and good too! Highly recommend their 'Cham' (coffee+tea). My favorite from their menu is definitely their Kai Si Hor Fun which is really close the those I've tasted from Ipoh. Do give it a try! Their Nasi Lemak is also another worth trying option in the menu. Their nasi lemak's sambal is the main highlight! Rarely, you'll find such aromatic and special sambal in the market, together with their 'L' shape chicken drumstick, serve to perfection. FYI, the nasi lemak rice is made with coconut milk, the aroma is fantastic. KopiKia 2nd outlet is much spacious, food wise is equally good as well. Noticing the comment below stating service and menu was a disappointment, but to be an understanding person, we all know new environment and a group of new staffs require time to be trained and to get everything in order through us, customers' feedback. Hence, I'll still give KopiKia 5 stars...
