The check-in was smooth with check-in kiosk. Be careful not to arrive at the wrong hotel if you only searched for Grand Inn on Google Map (on Penang Road). The parking is extra convenient and there is a bus station just opposite with all buses that go one-way towards the Komtar bus hub (as informed by helpful receptionist). The pharmacy next door is great to top-up on meds/skincare or make-up care you might have forgotten to bring along (mositurizer/makeup remover etc.) and eateries are open nearby as food options. The Grab fee can go up to ~RM14 if you travel at peak hours to 1st Avenue Mall/Komtar/Prangin Mall (linked by hub). Cons: Blankets a bit scratchy, old, less aesthetically pleasing. The toilet flush button is a bit faulty but not too big of a deal, although the shower is really awesome!! 👌🏻 Curtains a bit dusty, amenities need more care and upkeeping. Hoping that some or most of the items in room can be renewed in time for greater comfort. Overall, a...
Read moreThe room is quite small and noise from outside can be heard from the room. The bed and pillow sheets are yellowish. Small LCD TV. The bathroom is big but noisy when you flushed the closet from upstairs or the nearby room. Since I came only to visit to Loh Guan Lye Specialist Center Hospital, it is very near, just 2 minutes walk, cross the street then walk less then 20 meters. There hotel area has Pharmacy and the other Pharmacy is just less then 50 meters away also has a nice 24 hours Seven Eleven. If you want to try local food, there's duck and chicken grilled rice, many people eat there. Open around 9.30 a.m., many people said it's good, but I haven't tried it yet.||||Cons: I need to pay extra while I booked with Agoda, the price wasn't included the tourist tax MYR 10/person/night and MYR 2/night (not sure per person or room) as a heritage tax (if I'm not mistaken). And also need to give the deposit MYR 30, it's refundable...
Read moreThe hotel was not too bad, to say at least. The spot is where you can walk around the town easily from the hotel. The room that I stayed in is alright, but the bed felt kinda old because the spring, like flatten/sinked a bit, the pillow was too high for me to sleep (bring your own pillow). Hence, I just took a lot of multiple naps thru the night. The door to the room was a bit hard to open even when you had the key card to unlock it. The cooling system is good, the shower heater quite nice, they have a water dispenser outside the rooms hallway, and the parking spot is alright. The room's soundproofing was great,...
