I walked into this restaurant with a "just give it a try" mindset, mainly because the restaurant next door at Lalapot was too crowded. After sitting down, I realized many other customers seemed to be doing the same — coming in while waiting for a table at the more popular place.

Overall, both restaurants are quite similar, but this one does offer slightly more variety in terms of menu choices. That said, when it comes to food taste and service, I still think the one next door is better.

There are many similarities between the two — from the heat-insulated iron pots to the side stir-fry service. However, I noticed the boss lady here was chatting with her friends the whole time, and a few of the staff were just standing at the entrance talking. It was hard to get anyone’s attention.

I ordered a bowl of white rice, and it took a long time to arrive. Later I realized they had run out of rice and someone had gone to another shop to buy it. By the time it was served to us, the rice wasn’t even hot anymore.

All in all, if I want to eat Lalapot hotpot again, I’ll still choose the place next door. I wouldn’t come back...
