Hotel Tebrau CT — Hotel in Johor

This is a budget hotel, so one must be realistic with expectations.

Major plus points are: Easy walking proximity to Aeon Terbau and Ikea Toppen, Hero Market. You can also walk to Lotus. Bathroom has strong hot water.

Air-conditioning is cold. The unit looks new in my room. Mini Fridge looks new in my room. Water dispenser is available, so no need to buy water from supermarket. Room is very clean - No ants etc. It is also not expensive.

Minus: Soundproofing of the room is poor. Rooms can get very noisy if the other guests (especially children) are talking loudly in the corridor, shutting doors. Noise and talking from the street below are also picked up. This may go on till past 1 am. If you are a light sleeper, this may not be a place for you.

TV has only Channel News Asia in my room. Remote control doesn't work. No HDMI so you cannot bring your devices to connect up to watch YouTube etc.

All the rooms are on level one. There's a high chance, your room doesn't have a view or faces the service lane which is super noisy due to people chatting down stairs, motorcycle zipping through the area and loading of goods etc.

Overall, this is a great place if you want a place to wash up and rest and spend a lot of time in the 2 nearby...

First impression upon check in (around 4pm 11th October 2023) was upsetting. The FO staff was not friendly at all and smiling to the checking in guest seems to be very expensive for her to spend on! A little lesson for the staff my dear, you may have thousands load of problems on your mind, but onced you clock in to work, it must be left out ya!

Small and a little bit untidy lobby. Only 2 floors and accessible either by 3 max- person loaded lift or if your knees is still strong, scale up the staircase then! Hallway to the room is pleasant as it was bright enough and finding my room was easy.

Room is big enough for me (queen bed for a single occupant? Spacious of course)

Impressive when found out mini fridge and hair dryer is provided. Even a water boiler is available!

Though there is no closet to put your luggage in but not really a problem. Bathroom is quite big, hot shower is OK although you have to wait for a while for the hot water to pour.

Lastly, parking is your own risk as hotel don't provided a designated parking lot. But no worries, my car was freed from ticket though I parked the whole day there.

Oh! By the way, do not walk alone at night as there area is bit quiet.

Avoid this hotel.

Shld have read Google Reviews first. Booked two rooms. Sent email stated on Agoda it got bounced back.

Then sent msg within Agoda app, there were no response. Finally checked in, but was met with a very unhappy receptionist, totally not interested in her job.

Took a long time to check my family in when there's no queue.

There's only 1 floor of rooms and we were immediately greeted with cigarette smoke stench. 1st room was smelly, there were no bin for rubbish, no toilet roll provided. Requested for them but was ignored. Good thing we had an extra toilet roll with us.

2nd room was dirty. Housekeeping wasn't completed. Dirty towels were on the floor, and rubbish wasn't cleared. Had to change room.

The replacement room was far away. Aircon remote control and shower head weren't working. Was too tired to report since we knew the staff wasn't interested and by this time, 2 hrs later, toilet roll was still not given to the 1st room.

Only one pillow provided per bed. Basic water bottles were provided, hot water and some biscuits are provided at the reception. Tea and coffee dispensers are not working.

Not a comfortable place to just clean and rest. Avoid. Only good coz it's near...
