The hotel is located just behind Aeon Tebrau, and you can walk out of the mall through the carpark B1, near the new bookstall. Also very near Mount Austin, around RM6 via grab. The lobby is adequately sized, and it seems newer than some of the pictures on google. They probably renovated a little. There is still no lift, be prepared to climb up. The staff that checked us in was polite and gave us all the basic information of checking out. There is a deposit to pay, I believe it was RM50. Remember to bring back the remotes and the keycard upon checking out.
We got a King bed room for around $40SGD/RM120. The floor was ceramic tiled, clean enough with coloured walls. The bed was firm enough, however the pillows did have a little bit of uncle smell. Can be masked with some prickly heat, so not a major dealbreaker. Toilet was clean, with toiletries and soap provided. There is no facial soap, and the provided soap feels quite basic, so bring your own if you would like. The water speed was alright, and the heat was ok as well. You want hotter, just turn the water pressure down a little. The toilet door did creak when opening, and was a little hard to operate, probably a little rusty. Room comes with kettle and some instant coffee and tea, and hangers as well. Our room had a window that faced the small carpark behind the hotel. One note, that was cigarette smell in the morning and late at night. I think it is people smoking behind the hotel and it floated into our room. We hate the smell, so room star from 4 to 3. We closed the toilet door and it was better la, but I guess you get what you pay for. Some opening and closing door can be heard, and people shuffling in corridors occasionally, if you are sensitive to sound just fyi.
All in all a very money-worth hotel. Hope the smoking issue will be dealt with. But other than that, it was a comfortable and convenient...

Pros: Near/walkable to Aeon Tebrau, IKEA and Toppen (cut through Aeon carpark, take stairs to ground floor, then take overhead bridge from beside Aeon to get to IKEA) Has Hero supermarket just 3 minutes walk away Spacious room, comfortable bedding, aircon works well, toilet was clean and well lit. Has a drinking water dispenser at the common area.
Areas that were still acceptable to us in view of the low pricing: Hallways occasionally smelt of cigarette smoke despite several prominent “no smoking” signs and ironically, the room had an ash tray. Our room smelt ok. All power cut off after we take out the room card, including the fridge so we couldn’t keep fresh milk in there except through the night. Only 1 room card given. Need to walk up/down stairs to rooms on upper floor initial batch of water we boiled and poured from the China brand kettle was greenish. Went away after a few batches of boiling. All 6 pillows were very tall/thick, the tallest I have ever encountered… had to sleep with my head lower/nearer bottom edge.
What’s in the room: hair dryer, kettle, water jug, toothbrushes, towels, shampoo, shower gel, 2 chairs, one short square table, TV with local & Singapore channels, coffee cups and coffee sachets.
There is also a cute resident cat here that...
Read moreJS Hotel is located two streets behind Aeon Tebrau. The easiest way is to take a grab or uber (that cost around RM 12-20 depending on peak/off peak period) and there should be no problem locating the hotel. 5-7 minutes walking distance to Aeon Tebrau (cutting through car park), with ammenities made eaily accessible within the hotel. Please note that there will be a RM50 deposit and it must be paid in cash only, which can be refunded upon checking out. TV and Aircon control with wifi password will be provided upon checking in. ||||Instant noodle, beers, snacks are all available on ground floor with a value dollar shop linked beside JS hotel. Staff attitude is excellent. They explained the room type to me and collected a tourist hotel tariff or RM 10 (applicable to all foreigners). The consistent staff service impressed me. The room is spacious and clean. I don't think this is a 2 star hotel. They provide shower foam, shampoo, clean towels, hair dryer, kettle (with premixed coffee and tea) and even 2 bottles of drinking water. I stayed in a Deluxe King room and the bed is very comfortable and it can easily fit up to three person. Floor is not carpeted but it's kept very clean. Wifi is working perfectly, and i have no problem surfing youtube. The only thing to improve is the sound proofing of the rooms. The kids staying beside me was yelling early in the morning. Having said that, it's has nothing to do...
