I stayed at this hotel in September 2025. Lobby smelled like wet rug when i first stepped in. Checking in was easy and fast as i booked online, so the process took around 5 minutes. Location is good. Parking is pretty small, not enough space to park in the hotel area. Towels are prepared, no odors in the room and beds. Iron, ironing board and mini fridge was available in the room. Good amount of space in room to perform prayers (sejadah and translated Quran provided). Wifi is okay.
However, the hotel room and toilet was not that great.
There were barely any lights across the hallway so it's very dark and seems haunted. No rug was placed outside of the bathroom, floors get wet every time people got out of the toilet. I can let out more saliva when i sneeze than the showerhead. Water pressure is just bad. The wall tiles in the toilet are straight up disgusting but still bearable, looks like the last time they were scrubbed was years ago. Only 2 electrical plug available with 1 being connected to the tv, which leaves us to only 1 plug available. Loud banging/ knocking and running noises can be heard for almost 10 minutes straight around 1am. It's probably the ghost but it was a bad experience. No tissues. Stairs are dirty.
I've read bad reviews from years ago expecting a better hotel room but most of their complaints matches my complaints now. Hotel Seri Malaysia, do you not take consideration into your customers complaints? We all know the answer. It's understandable that it is an old hotel but cleanliness still needs to be given priorities unless your goal is to attract more rats...

We’ve just started settling down after an hour drive and someone came and knocked on the door. as we were told that we were sent to the wrong rooms. It was annoying but we were pretty chill about it until my brother heard them saying “alamak” after seeing the touched room. Why would anyone say that after your own mistake? It’s bad customer service all over! That’s RUDE! Cleanliness wise, it’s way below average. It’s dirty. The toilet was horrendous! I get that it is an old building but hey ho, you sure can still scrub the tiles right? The condition was so bad. It was horrible. During the checkout, I thought it was gonna be an easy process. However, the reception girl told us to wait, so we did. Another lady came with the girl asking for a receipt copy from my mum without explaining. Then she was highlighting the fact that we’ve underpaid. They’ve switched between 397 to 379. We totally get that mistakes to happen, but the way she pointed it out was really rude. She said if we check on our internet reservation, it is 397. Not even one apologies came through her mouth and she had the nerve to talk as if we were trying to avoid paying. So my mum told her to deduct the deposit, she is still questioning the reception girl if she has returned the deposit. It was plainly rude all over. The room was very bad and its totally not to my expections paid rm160 for the room but alot of things missing theres no phone in the room, toilet bowl flushing problem, theres no tissue in the room, aircond was not cold, water flow very slow, no dustbin provided in the toilet, plug for ironing faulty, Seri Malaysia Management look into my complaints and please improve on your room facilities and service..I was told by your front office that your seri msia hotel alor setar will no longer place phone in the room such a ridiculous explanation what if i wanted to call your room service and reception well dont expect me to use my handphone to call?
