JP Hotel Jalan Stadium — Hotel in Kedah

Stayed at room 101 from 13-16 May 2023.

The Good: Hotel & room is overall quiet, no talking/laughing too loudly late into the night. Although hotel faces a main road, it was not that noisy at night. Bed comfortable for me. Room wifi is not strong but ok to use. Good water pressure for shower & wash basin. Ample street side parking. Good location, about 5 mins drive to Aman Central mall area. Many eateries & cafes within walking distance and a short drive of 5-10mins from hotel. Water dispenser & ironing facility provided at common area on each floor. A mini pantry area with tables, chairs, cups, plates, 3-in-1 beverages also available. No sewage smell from the bathroom.

The Not-So-Good: Bathroom has no shower curtain to separate shower from toilet, causing the whole bathroom area to be wet after shower. Found cigarette ash in the drawer. Cleanliness can be improved. Although mine was a non-smoking room, there was smoke smell lingering in the room maybe from previous guest who smoked in room or due to inconsiderate guests smoking in their room & their smoke transferred via the vent or bathroom exhaust system. Suggest that smoke detector be installed in each room to deter smoking. Lighting in bathroom was too dim for me especially at the basin area. Suggest to have brighter lights. TV signal not very stable. Faulty shelving in the bathroom. Maintenance can be further improved. Aircon was somewhat slow to cool the room, maybe aircon needed to be serviced or have coolant gas filled.

We didn't book any hotel during this trip and we found this hotel while we were going to the Thai restaurant nearby. We walked in during the second day of cny and luckily we still managed to get a room for 2 nights. The staff has a good smile.

Triple room with 1 double bed and 1 single bed, price at rm165/night is really reasonable. The room size is ok, the shower with good water pressure, the tv is quite small and no sound but we don't really need it. Mini mineral water, towel, hand soap, toilet roll is provided in the room.

There is a mini market and restaurants/cafe around, and 5 mins drive from the city center. Overall we are satisfied, the only down side is that a bit noisy as it is near the busy road and doesn't have good...

My wife and I had a good stay here. The room we got for two is quite small, but for the price that we paid for, it was expected. Basic amenities like bar soap and bottled water are provided. Do note that housekeeping is by request basis only, so if you need housekeeping you need to ask the receptionist. Service-wise, the staffs are very friendly. There are good eateries nearby, and if you are in time for the Ramadhan month, the bazaar at the stadium offers a lot of choices within walkable distance.
