Specifically booked a room with double bed room online a few hours before arrival, when we got there we got told there were no double bed rooms available so we were given a twin beds room. Not the end of the world but a little annoying. Then at 00.30am as we were sleeping, the aircon started leaking A LOT. Water was pouring down. Called the reception guy who tried his best to do something but after 10 minutes as he was going nowhere with his DIY I asked to be moved room. But the hotel was full so not possible. I asked to be moved to another hotel and the staff immediately accepted and drove us to a nearby hotel of similar standards.||||I know problems happen and this was maybe unlucky but anyway, the hotel felt old and not very well maintained. We could feel the springs through the mattresses and only a blanket was provided (and we don't think it had been washed). To call this place a hotel we think it should have sheets on the bed and a window! Oh and the TV only had 5 working Malaysian channels. As an aside, ignore Lonely Planet's advice on Kota Bharu, there is nothing of real interest here. The only positive comment about this place is that some of staff were really helpful with our luggage, maps and lifts to the airport, but others just seemed...
