During our short vacation in Kota Bharu, my wife and I were driving around aimlessly when we stumbled upon Restoran Sri Chengmai. A quick Google search showed that it only opens at 6.00 PM, so we made a note to return for dinner.
We arrived early at 7.30 PM, and parking was easy to find right in front of the restaurant. The place wasn’t too crowded yet, giving us plenty of time to browse the menu without feeling rushed. One of the staff members approached us, offering friendly recommendations, which we really appreciated.
Taking her advice, we ordered a variety of dishes, and wow—everything was superb! But the real standout? The clear soup tom yum. It was simply the best.
The restaurant was clean, the prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere was welcoming. By 8.30 to 9.00 PM, the crowd started pouring in, so we were lucky to have come early.
Great food, good service, and a comfortable setting with round tables that make it perfect for families. A solid choice if you're looking for a satisfying meal...

The good thing about things place is there are very few customers so your food will arrive relatively quick. The staff are nice too.
In summary, over priced, low quality cooking but short wait time because hardly anybody else dines here. I would avoid dining here again unless there is no other choice.

Everything was 10/10. Be prepared to refill your plate with unlimited rice (included in the set).
I don't know how to explain the taste in details but daging mongolia and ikan cheng mai are menus that you can only find here. Daging mongolia had a creamy taste with hint of curry leaves. Siakap cheng mai, tasted quite similar to ikan asam jawa, with sourness as its main flavour but just the right sourness for the palate.
Parking can be a bit limited due to its location (food...
