A lot of changes from when they first started.
Atmosphere:
Food: Crab Fried Rice 2.5🌟 The picture and name is sort of misleading. The bunch of white stuff is mostly (60-70%) egg. I guess it's sort of expected with its price. Not a lot crab flavour, can feel it slightly as you eat the egg mix crab. The rice doesn't have a lot flavour, some parts can feel some flavour while some taste bland. Probably need a better stir. There's just very little carrot tiny dice within the rice, nothing else. Priced at Rm 11
Snacks: Belacan Fried Chicken 3.75🌟 Ordered a thigh. The skin has a thin layer of batter and its super crispy. It's also very flavorful and nice. It does have sort of a smelly fragrance to it. For Thigh or Drumstick, priced at Rm 6.50 each. or L Shape Drumstick (Thigh + Drumstick) it's Rm 11 each.
Snacks: Assorted Skewers Chicken 3.25🌟: Rm 2 each. No fat Beef 3🌟: Rm 2 each. Also no fat, most tough and dry. Lamb 3.25🌟: Rm 3 each. Minimal fat, there's some tenderness. Seasoning 3🌟 : Seems to be same for all skewers. Bearable spiciness (but lingering). If worried about spiciness (and saltiness) can also ask for less seasoning. Need to order a minimum of 2 skewers each. More expensive ones can order 1 (Eg, more than Rm 5).
Drinks: Watermelon Juice 3.25🌟 Ordered a large one with less sugar, but still sweet. Priced at Rm 12.80 for large, Rm 8.50 for normal which is...
Read moreWhatever you do, do not order the drinks there. It's terribly expensive, for a food court. Charging cafe price for a lime juice. Worse still, the waitress tried to scam us by upgrading our drink to large, even though we ordered small. Of course, it would cost more. We rejected the wrong order even though the waitress said she has to pay for the wrong order from her own pocket?! Tried the Lim Nasi Kandar. More or less a chicken curry rice, definitely not Kandar. Kandar is the trademark of curry served in Penang. The traditional Kandar curry has very pungent spices and the spicy flavour stick to your fingers if you eat it by hand. The curry served here is just plain ordinary curry and definitely not Kandar. The good thing that came out of this is that it make me want to go to Penang to try the original stuff. My daughter tried the tandoori chicken at a cost of 21 ringgit. The pork noodles with salted vegetables was mainly pork blood and liver. Hardly any pork. Great way of cutting cost but increasing price Check the price before ordering drinks so bring your own drinks if...
Read moreCame here during the dinner hours only. A lot of variety all in all. Some are better than others. I've been here multiple times and tried a few different food items.
Thus far, those I liked a lot are the Rojak (from the Rojak shop- Rm10 for small) and Mala Yee Mee (from the pan mee/yee mee shop - Rm9). The rojak does not have that distinct prawn paste or saltiness, in case that's something you like. The mala yee mee was quite generous with the amount real meat slices and did not have fish cakes (both a plus in my opinion).
The prawn noodle was just ok. Worth a try anyway if you are feeling like prawn noodles. The western chicken shop was ok. It was a decently big piece though.
I'll pass on the duck egg fried kuey teo. The flavour was rather flat. I'll also not recommended the claypot chicken rice in tom yum flavour because it didn't taste like tom yum at all. They also didn't cook the rice long enough to develop the crispy bottom.
A large cup of watermelon juice is Rm9.80
I believe most food items will cost at least Rm8. Perhaps a...
