My honest experience at Flo Cafe. It exceeded my expectations.
I stumbled upon this cafe/bar by accident. Decided to try it out since I didn’t really have anything to do, might as well burn a couple hours at this place.
Food: 5/5 The place offers a collection of Thai x Western Fusion food. See, my take on fusion food is that not a lot of places can pull it off but Flo has managed to find the perfect balance when it comes to incorporating Thai spices with western cuisine. Most of the time, Thai food can be very intense but the way they pull it off here, its quite pleasant. Not only that, they also offer appetisers such as soups, salads, finger foods, and etc. I had the Thai fusion Egg Benedict and Fried Chicken Ceaser Salad. Both of which were good. Showcasing the Thai flavours but still maintaining the whole Western food integrity. Solid.
Ambiance: 7/5! Industrial style establishment. Concrete floors and floors but is balanced out by the floral decorations. Your typical jazz/rnb/acoustic cafe music will be played but Live Band performance at night. I came here on 2 separate occasions, morning and night. Morning, chill coffee place. Night, chill bar to get drinks with friends. At night, Lights were dimmed down and complimented with neon lights that does not blind the eyes. All of this while accompanied by a great live performance.
Customer service: 5/5 Staff were friendly, neat, and also attentive. I accidentally dropped my spoon and without even asking, someone came by and gave me a new set of cutleries. That says alot when you don’t even have to ask for help. They just naturally do it. Have I mentioned, the owners are amazing human beings. Asked feedback and actually talked with their customers, just felt very welcomed and truly cared for.
Overall and conclusion: Good food, good people and also amazing atmosphere. I don’t think I can say anything more about this place. All I can say is that I will be a returning and...
Read moreRandomly chose to try this bar. Went in and apparently all except the tables at the sides of the restaurant are all reserved! Seated at the corner which is hot and stuffy. Requested for a better table but the staff are atrocious. They don’t seem to understand any language(not too sure where are they from). Finally when a staff that could understand us, they seated us to another table at another corner(wth) and again mentioned firmly that the other tables are all reserved. Order their dinner set(mee Siam with ayam penyet) which is reasonably priced. Noodle was bit hard but chicken was great! Also ordered their Suancai fish which was alright. A note to mention, their set, which might sound generous but it’s like nothing, just 3 small sauce plate of randomness) and a bowl of plain soup. For the price we paid, I say it’s alright, but the pictures of the sides on the menu made it very enticing but it’s definitely not true. When we are about to leave, none of the reserved tables were seated. Unbelievable! Probably they thought we are going stay there for hours. Maybe set a dining time to the patrons who did not reserve and let them know of the time they might need to vacate the table will be better.
Atmosphere wise, promotes decent food, but it’s really more meant to be a bar than a restaurant. Super dark with a tiny table light to accompany us.
If you’re here for a drink, probably it will be alright, but for anything else, probably give it a thought...
Read moreThis is 2nd time I went here. And I saw a new Chinese Menu. I ordered a dinner set for RM15.90 via QR code, but there seems to be an issue with the QR code, or something wasn't clear. When I asked the staff, he mentioned something about "order got ady, it could be a Wi-Fi issue, I'll help you," and then just turned around and walked away. I was left confused, not knowing what was happening. When I asked again, I got the same answer, and he walked away again. Is it really that hard to just say something clearly while standing there? The staff was originally at the bar, and when I called him, he just said "wait a moment" and turned away. What was he so busy with? I was shown a menu with a photo, featuring 3 dishes and 1 soup, including tofu, salad, and mushroom soup. However, only one item matched, while the others were completely different: cucumber, shredded carrots, and a plain broth. The carrot was even sour and spoiled. Don’t tell me it's pickled— the spoiled taste was very obvious. When I told the staff that the carrot was bad, she just took it away without saying anything. The biggest issue is why the side dishes were so different from the photos on the menu. If these weren’t the dishes meant to be served, why even use those photos to mislead customers?
And a cake I ordered has been sitting for a long time. The entire cake base has a hard and powdery texture.
Poor service and bad food. I won’t be...
