I recently stayed at Adya Hotel and had a mixed experience. The check-in process required a RM100 deposit, payable only in cash, which may be inconvenient for those expecting to use a credit card. That said, I appreciated that the receptionist allowed me to proceed with check-in and pay the deposit later. However, the front desk staff lacked warmth and seemed more focused on completing the process quickly and getting guests away from the counter rather than offering a welcoming experience. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, equipped with useful amenities such as a refrigerator, iron, and ironing board. However, only one bottle of refilled filtered water was provided, which felt insufficient. There were also just two cups available for tea or coffee, which may be limiting for guests staying more than one night. While the housekeeping staff were friendly, their attention to detail was lacking. During service, the bed was made and towels were replaced, but the cups were left untouched and not cleaned or replaced, which was disappointing. The swimming pool was another downside. The water was noticeably unclean, it appeared murky, and no towels were provided despite signage stating otherwise. This reflects a lack of proper maintenance and attention to guest experience. It did not feel hygienic or inviting. These issues reflect a broader concern about the hotel's cleanliness and general upkeep. About breakfast, over three days, the breakfast menu lacked variety and showed little effort. Most items were repeated daily: baked beans, baked potatoes, beef patties, samosa, nasi lemak, and either fried noodles or vermicelli. The chicken was cut into tiny pieces and not replenished after 9.00 AM, only bony scraps were left for late guests. Despite these issues, I must commend the waiter, who worked efficiently to keep tables and used plates clean at all times. The egg station was also well-run, with prompt and accurate service. Still, overall breakfast quality was 2.5/5 at best.Adya Hotel has the foundation to be a good Muslim-friendly hotel, but it seriously lacks attention to detail, maintenance, and guest hospitality. The pool’s condition, the breakfast shortcomings, the lack of warmth at the front desk, and the just-enough housekeeping show complacency.Langkawi’s tourism image is already facing challenges. If hotels like Adya don’t step up, guests will stop returning and the business risks fading out entirely. This stay was enough for me. I won’t be coming back unless real improvements are made. Please improve, especially in the name of being a Muslim-friendly hotel. Be more welcoming. Look after the details. Make guests...
Read moreWe booked the Premier Suite expecting a comfortable, premium stay in adya hotel— instead we felt cheated and stayed in a hotel that isn’t even close to 3-star standards. Don't fall for agoda or booking.com or booking sites which say it is 4 star hotel. Google mentions it's 3 star hotel. I would say It is not even a 3 star hotel. The property is very old and neglected. The carpet throughout the room is filthy with dirt everywhere — living area, dining area and bedroom all looked stained and unclean. The bed and bedsheets had visible dirt on them; the balcony was dirty and the balcony flooring felt unhygienic. Furnishings are ancient and worn out, and the whole room gives a very rundown, uncomfortable vibe.
The washroom fittings are old and shabby, and overall cleanliness was completely unacceptable. Corridors and the lift felt like a dated budget hotel from decades ago, not a “Premier Suite” property. We didn’t book breakfast initially but paid 30 MYR/ person to try it. The spread was pathetic: one croissant, a few pieces of bread, some salad and a coffee machine on the side — no hot mains, almost nothing an international traveler could eat. For that amount we could only have plain bread with butter. Such a waste of money.
Parking is free, which is the only positive, but it doesn’t make up for everything else. We travelled for our honeymoon and were extremely disappointed — the suite, the hygiene, and the food were all far below expectations. The whole hotel seems like it’s falling apart and should be shut down until a full renovation and proper management are put in place. I cannot recommend this hotel at all. Please avoid staying in this hotel with...
Read moreThe room is great. The hotel looks great. But that’s it. The staff are all clueless and can barely stitch two words together to make a sentence. They can’t speak and understand English well enough. Be prepared to crack your skulls for a minimum of 10 minutes over a 1 minute conversation. ||Breakfast - 2 / 10||The food just exists. No heart, no soul. Bread doesn’t taste like bread. Milk doesn’t taste like milk. Again, for eggs, you will have to have extraordinary communication skills to make the poor girls standing at the counter understand what exactly u need. One day I asked for an omelette made up of 3 eggs. And what I got was two omelettes of 3 eggs each. No salt in any food. ||Room service: Just don’t order. It’s a waste of money. Horrible food with zero taste. And that too comes delayed and cold. ||Pool was closed for half of the duration of our stay. We stayed for 11 nights. ||5 times a day they play Quran verses loudly in all their public areas. For someone from hospitality industry myself, I have never seen something like this. I myself work in a Muslim country and we have mosques where guests can go and visit. But having to listen to loud Quran verses in gym, corridor, lobby isn’t something I signed up for. They should list this out loud on their websites and all other sites, so that the guests can make an informed decision. ||Gym - namesake. Ignore this if u thought this is the reason u are booking this.||The hotel truly looks outstanding from outside. And the room is amazing with nice view. The housekeepers were the best and the only ones who could speak and understand English better than anyone else. These are...
