I experienced discrimination in this restaurant. The ushers and the servers were ignoring us when we entered the premises. They even gave us side eyes. Because we were locals from Sarawak and not some foreigners with blonde hair and fair skin (typical around here). We had to stand by a table because there weren't enough chairs and they were ignoring our calls. When we were finally seated, we had to wait for half an hour before somebody came and cleared our table. And then another half an hour before our orders were taken. When the foods came, the portions were very small despite us ordering for 6-7 persons. And the taste oh my god, was worse. Needless to say, the foods were not worth the expensive price. Where's the discrimination in this story? Remember the ushers and the servers? They were all very arogant towards us but super duper friendly to foreigners. They even led them to their tables, promoted some menus and their foods were coming out faster. I was very dissapointed about every aspect of their treatment that night cause it was so opposite to those foreigners. I would like for them (the restaurant's owner and employees) to come and experience a totally people-friendly and price-worthy dining experience in Kuching, Sarawak so they could reflect...

Tonight's meal was like a scene from an ol' skool comedy movie. After messing up our drinks order, the restaurant brought us the wrong squid dish. And then when the right squid dish came out, it was totally inedible. All of our dishes ordered tonight was below par (apart from the tofu dish). I normally wouldn't normally bother dissing a restaurant this badly, but when it comes to dampening the mood of my holiday, I find it hard to contain my annoyance.
The waitress-come-manageress was extremely confrontational with one helluva attitude problem (think big hoochie mama in a classic 70's leopard print top). After making our complaint in person, I asked her to taste the dish as she asked me what was wrong with the fish. Her incredulous response was "this is just the way our restaurant serves the dish", and then just shrugged her shoulders and sashayed away (like she was in the final of this season's Rupaul Drag Race).
Be careful though as there is an exceptionally good restaurant called Orkid Ria two doors down which has a very similar Chinese name (真浪花園酒家) to "Happy Happy 真浪大家乐海鮮餐馆". Makes me wonder whether "Happy Happy"chose a similar Chinese name in the hope of deceiving newbie langkawi...
Read more"I had lunch here today and ordered the lobster. I thought it would be fresh, and I confirmed the price and weight with the waitress – RM25 per gram for a small one around 700g. Yesterday, I tried a different seafood restaurant near Cenang where the price was RM29/100g, but they were out of small ones, so I didn't order.
The odd thing is, I was billed RM250 for a frozen lobster instead of a fresh one. When I questioned it, the owner showed me a menu with a price sticker, but I didn't receive that menu. I wouldn't have ordered a frozen lobster for RM250; you can get one for RM45 at Lotus, you know?
To add to the confusion, they miscalculated my bill and charged me RM855 instead of the correct amount, which is RM434. Thankfully, they refunded the overcharged amount!
I've got to admit, the messed-up pricing and menu confusion really make me wonder about the reliability of this place. It's quite unsettling dealing with these inconsistencies, and it's definitely taken a hit on my trust in their...
