House of Lion Hostel and Guesthouse — Hotel in Langkawi Island

I am only giving one star because of the Italian lady and other travelers who worked there, they are VERY friendly,kind,hardworking and accommodating. The owner however was very rude, firstly i guess cos im african and he probably thought im an illegal immigrant here. ||||As everyone knows, all students get an icard issued by immigration, so that they do not lose their passports, hence i hadnt traveled with my passport, and he asked that i show him my passport photo, luckily i always have a softcopy in my email. this is unacceptable considering that even the copse wouldnt do that. ||||secondly, we were not informed that our guests couldnt come and sit outside with us at the chairs, and at one time he emberassed them. i feel like he could have just told them nicely that they werent welcome. One of our friends also parked his car near the hostel, as we know this is just a village, theres no actual parkings. The owner "sam" told him, to take his car and not park there, and my friend was shocked he just said oh... at which sam replied "dont oh me" ||||LOL!! eventhough its a cheap stay, still feel like i wasted money. I wanted to leave the first day, but only stayed cos my friend suggested that we ignore everything. ||||aside from that, the rooms are well take care of, very clean. toilets are not that good, but they are always clean. the kitchen is very clean too. cheers. and please tell your guests to wait for u far cos they not allowed near this...

I have booked this hostel on 24Dec18 through hostelworld.com later when I traveled to Kuala Lumpur on 28th so I was out of internet so I could not check my emails I had a booking from 31st Dec 18 , so as after a long travel we reached Two Peace House in Langkawi, Malaysia we met a worst man Mr. Sam he was owner or manager of that hostel ..he started shouting and blaming us tried to hit on us , he discriminate us as we were black.||after a long argument and we beg him that its not right time we can arrange something else 31st Dec he spoke to a neighbor and arranged a stay for but he always discriminate us and he threat us strictly not to come to my hostel as all white people staying here and not to talk with anyone from his hostel guests.||||We have paid $13.85 there please refund that money as we have not received any service .||||I also would like to request to hostel world admin and organizers please take suitable action against that those or blacklist them who discriminate humanity.||||I didn't get my refund nor any satisfactory reply from hostelworld.com please avoid ..hostelworld.com||||Any questions are welcome||thanks and...

The hostel is located near the airport and walking distance from the biggest beach in Langkawi but main attractions like eagle square ferry station sky bridge are in the other end .

The walk from the main road to the hostel is long dark alley that'll definitely make you religious.

The bunkers are three tier in a small room . I.e you can fiy in yourself or your luggage. The doors are squeaky and don't close.

There is one hot shower and toilet amongst 20 people that's so unclean smelly and broken that I've seen public washrooms in gas stations in better condition. The flush takes forever to refill so you'll almost always walk into an unflished loo in the time of emergency. The shower pressure is very low cause it leakes from all angles. There is one basin for 20 ppl to brush but I almost puked by the thought of using it.

Good things : Yes there is hot and cold water to drink . And they provide towels ! The owners are nice helpful kind and speak fluent English. There are 5 cats

They also take 10 myr additional tax and 1myr per night...
