The hotel is basic. Room is not dirty but not hygienic as well. First time coming to the hotel will be the biggest challenge. because for a strange reason they use do not use the name tivolli inn rather its "Tropicana Inn".|| quite confusing! Even though these are some tiny flaws the most shoking and alarming fact is their staffs! That's the first time I was worried about my security in malaysia with a serious concern of being a victim of racism and hate!|| || I was a long walk and a hike from the jetty to the hotel. Going in there in my shock and tiredness I was met with person in reception who was from pakistan. Rude as he is with no english he was asking about my nationality. No check in no welcome no request to wait. Acting like a investigation police he started asking all kinds of irritating question.|| For ur information I am a half malaysian muslim and was travelling with my female friend. After knowing that the guy literally abused me in a racist chant in the desk! I told him it was none of his business and ask him to give me my key. Instead he answered with another conservative religious abuse about my nationality and my race. I received a horrible treatment and rude shouting behaviour in my own country from those guyz from that point onwards!|| starting from the reception untill the housekeeper everyone is from pakistan and there is no sign of local hospitality or taste. u will be feeling like ur in a radical violent observation of what ur doing with ur family and friends and receive negative feedback time to time! I had the worst experience of my life this time and thought to call the police when I found out one of the housekeepers is peeping through the window to see us in early morning. My God! I checked out immidietly after that.|| || In a nutshell not what u pay for. Serious level of extremism among the staffs. illigal employment of foreign worker in a local hotel. not sure about the hotel name and owner. || || if ur travelling to see malaysia, I suggest to try where you find the local malaysian taste rather...
Read moreI notice that the average gives a poor perception yet the reverse happens for me. I arrived earlier than the scheduled check-in time, and the welcoming receptionist staff allowed us to check in at that time as well. The staff, as well as the boss and manager (I'm not sure), are quite helpful and offer plenty guidance. Besides, even though our room is somewhat uphill, we are okay because we are young, and what do you think when you are in the island? Our accommodations are also upgraded without any additional fees. Regarding the room's state, everything is fine with us because it is an island and you cannot expect everything you want is here. The room and toilet are very clean, provided complete with pillows, blankets, towels. The bathroom also includes soap, shampoo and conditioner. There were some bugs in the room at night, but it was fine with us because we were in the island. There is no wifi in each room; just at the receptionist, however if you use celcom, you may be able to get access to the internet. Electricity is also available 24 hours a day, unlike in nearby areas. Water flows freely in comparison to the situation on the island, where water is limited. The receptionist lent us a phone cable at night because our cable had been ended due to water ingress that day. The staff was very sympathetic of the customer's situation because it was very difficult to find and buy a phone cable, and if one was available, it cost up to RM50. Hot water is accessible at the front counter, as well as an iron and ironing board. We also booked a snorkelling package with them; we went on a 5-hour long tour. Whatever, everything is lovely here. If you expect more, go to a five-star hotel. Hiking is common on the island, as do bugs and...
Read moreI am a well travelled man, having travelled through various destinations in Europe and Asia. I had to unfortunately book Tivoli inn in August, as all the other hotels in the island were already booked during the time of my visit.||||Me, along with my family, arrived at the hotel before check in time and wanted to use the common washroom adjacent to the reception area. But the guys at the reception told me that someone's at the washroom. So I waited outside the washroom for quite some time with my wife, only to find out that the reception guys had a key to it all along, which is given only to selective people presumably Europeans (white). I also confirmed this fact later by speaking to a staff member,a good man, whose name I am not sharing here for obvious reasons. I mean no disrespect to anyone, but I found this very offensive. ||||Also, there was an altercation between the staff and a family member during our visit, whereby one of the staff not only intimidated him, but threatened him to such a level that we were scared for our safety in the island. To be specific, he said something like, "it only takes us a second to make people disappear off this island". We have travelled to many hotels & resorts in the past, but never had this kind of experience.||||As for the quality of accommodation of this hotel, I would rate it a 1 out of 5. The room we were given lacked cleanliness, and the toilet smelt bad, had stains all over, and faulty faucets.||||If I had known better, I would change my travel dates and book some other hotel rather than staying here. Never going back to...
