I write this review as someone who booked a package with Ombak Resort which included breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast was buffet style and repetitive - same thing every morning. Good vegetarian options but almost no vegan options besides fruit, beans, cereals and sometimes soy milk. Not a great start to the day, especially when you go diving afterwards, for which you need fuel. For lunch and dinner you can choose from a very limited menu which is the same every day. It includes a drink (also limited choice) and some fruit for dessert (always watermelon). The main course options are good for vegetarians but there are no vegan options. You can ask for vegan food but the staff makes you feel as if this is a hassle. I got the same dish for every meal during my 4 day stay - so I ate the same dish 8x. It was always veggies with tofu. Sometimes with sauce, sometimes without. One night I was served plain white rice with a slice of cucumber. This was very disappointing.
Besides that, the restaurant has a big menu but prices are incredibly high. I read many comments about long waiting times but from what I observed, this isn’t the case. A nice touch is that they play two movies every night. But then again: drinks ans food are so expensive that you don’t want to splurge on that too much. The staff often looks like they hate their job, almost no smiles etc. I recommend Ombak Resort for staying there but I can’t recommend the...
Read moreThe most depressing western breakfast I’ve ever had. Took so long to prepare yet somehow everything arrived cold. How do you manage to serve cold sausages?? Also the menu mentioned additional bacon etc. when I realised it was missing and asked them about it they said they ran out and replaced it with baked beans. In what world is that a remotely similar substitution… even another sausage would’ve made more sense. Finally onto the baked beans, I also have no idea how you manage to make it so dry, even baked beans from a can and put into a microwave would taste better. All this could be somewhat excused if it didn’t cost rm30. I could literally make this for 5 bucks. And dont even blame it on island price tax because you can get a better breakfast meal on the opposite beach just 15 minutes away for...
Read moreThe best cafe/restaurant in Coral Bay. Clean and fancy as any other place bothered to look like. The staff is really nice, specially the youngest kid serving always super happy. His energy is contagious! 😊 The prices are a bit to much unfortunately, but I guess you pay for this service difference! We loved their events, everyday movie at 1 and 7pm (they have amaziiing 7RM big bag of caramel/salted popcorns) and fire show at Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The food is really good and you can pay with card, but as I said the prices are expensive comparing with the prices in the rest of the Island). The WiFi works really slowly specially when is fullz they should definitely think in have a good WiFi it would make a...
