We recently spent a few days at Harera Resort, Perhentian, and it was such a memorable experience! It’s not a fancy or luxurious place, but it has a warm, nostalgic charm that made us feel right at home.
Our villa was simple—made of wood, equipped with fans and a decent bathroom (watchout of water pressure. Slightly low pressure, alternatively you can choose to shower at public bathroom at lower deck which is very clean and good water pressure). It really gave off that cosy kampung house vibe. Perfect for those who enjoy a more down-to-earth, laid-back stay.
What truly stood out was the hospitality. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by a lovely couple who run the place. They were incredibly sweet and even let us check in early, which was a huge plus. While waiting, we sipped on some freshly made lemonade—absolutely refreshing in the heat!
To get to Harera, it’s about a 500-600 metre walk from the jetty. Just look out for the path heading towards Matahari Chalet, hike a little uphill, and you’ll find Harera nestled there.
A quick tip: bring mosquito repellent and any personal necessities, as it’s a bit more nature-friendly. One of the highlights was having a BBQ right outside our villa. We brought our own grill and used the surrounding rocks as a stand—it worked perfectly! The owner even offered us his Bluetooth speaker, which really added to the vibe.
All in all, it was a beautiful, heartfelt stay filled with sweet memories. Thank you, Harera, for making...
Read moreWe booked the villa for 13 of us for 4 nights. We are happy with our stay and would recommend. One villa has 2 separated bedrooms with a shared bathroom. The bathroom is very modern and clean, although like the rest of Long Beach, uses bidet and no toilet paper so bring your own if you prefer using that.
The bedrooms have two windows, a mirror, a desk, multiple plug points and very comfortable beds all equipped with mosquito nets. We slept very comfortably. They provided a towel per person which was a nice add on.
The villa also had a spacious balcony space with an amazing view of the sea. Enough tables and chairs and hammocks. Very cozy. there also was enough space to hang your clothes to dry.
To reach the villas you need to walk uphill, and you will be surrounded by trees. Very quiet area. The common lounge area is very cozy and you can fill up your water bottle there. The WiFi was also as good as it can get on the islands.
We appreciate how accommodating the staff was. We were able to pay separately for our accommodation and they accommodated a late check out for us.
Unfortunately it rained a lot on our last night and in 3 out of 4 rooms, the roofs leaked and some people could not sleep in their beds. That would be the only inconvenience.
Thank you overall for a...
Read morePreviously known as Bintang Chalet, I can see that the new owner has raised the standard of this accommodation.
We arrived at Harrera Perhentian and were really impressed, especially with the interior which is simple yet elegant. You can feel this place is done with love. I appreciated the fact that our room had a mosquito net, comfortable bed and pillows, space to place our things for easy access and ropes to hang wet clothes.
If you stay at room number 7 as we did, you're guaranteed with a spectacular view of stunning sunrise and ocean view. Harrera Perhentian is located near to the hill which is 5 minutes away from the beach. We liked the location of this chalet which is away from party noise at night at long beach.
I would stay in Harerra Perhentian if I come back to Perhentian Kecil again. Hope we will get to stay in...
