The Wave Residences Melaka — Hotel in Malacca

The building looks beautiful from the outside and so is the view from the swimming pool area.

Other than that, there are many complaints about this “hotel” (where do I even begin..?)

Firstly, there is zero is seating area for customer to relax in the lobby. There is only the reception and a small store to purchase basic needs. Although the lobby has a huge space, but it is filled with stacks of chair and some random junks.

The swimming pool and gym were closed due to the COVID period. Thus, no comment can be given.

Once entered and check in to the room, the room is somewhat the same while different at the same time as compare to pictures posted on online and in reality. Yes they were the beautiful brown couch, table, huge television and bed, but your expectation drops to the ground as you slowly realize the parts where they did not show you online.

There were no cooking utensils or equipment but only a small and dirty looking kettle which I definitely refrained from using it. However, they do at least provide a fridge and a sink in the kitchen.

Next, inside the toilet has a glass which separates the bathing area and the toilet bowl which is not wiped dry when I checked in which indicate that the previous guest just checked out and maybe there were no cleaners that clean the toilet. They have the shampoo and soap dispenser but not the content of it inside.

Moreover, one of the smaller room with bed inside has a terrible huge mold on the wall right beside the bed near your head. I have to sleep another side away from the disgusting sight. I also noticed that they MAY not clean the bed sheets and blanket as I found some dirt and stain on the sheets. I do not find sleeping in this “hotel” peaceful as it is dirty, many holes on the wall and the wallpapers are peeling everywhere.

They do provide hair dryer and iron in the master bedroom but the ironing board is nowhere to be found. So how do people going to iron their clothes without an ironing board..? On the floor?

Overall, this “hotel” leave me a very unsatisfied feeling during my stay. I could definitely use the money to stay in a much better conditioned hotel. Not to mention, the tourist attraction in Melaka is all very far away from this place. I do not recommend staying unless you really want to swim as their swimming pool...

Please read if you plan to book/stay here. I booked 2 nights for a family trip with small baby this week. At first they gave us unit B23A02. Upon checking in we noticed a few things. Kitchen and toilet pipes and tap leaking. Water damage in toilet, kitchen. One of the room had a wall adjoining to toilet and it had water stain and there was a bed next to the wall. Is that hygienic/safe? Sheets were dirty, stained.

We thought we could try to accept the situation. So we went for family dinner and walk around jonker street. But when we returned at 10pm we discovered the unit had cockroach 🪳 infestation. Like a serious infestation. Cockroach of various sizes from small baby ones to big ones from kitchen to living to dining rooms and bathrooms. We tried to kill them but there were many. I called the management and they changed a until for me at tower A2302. But imagine the horrible experience we had to move everything and everyone plus small baby to another unit in another tower at 11pm ...

Luckily the 2nd unit was much cleaner and had no cockroaches. Other things were quite good. The swimming pool is clean. There is a lovely playground for kids. There are lots of eateries around the area accessible by walking. Jonker street is 5mins drive away.

I think the management really need to be alert and upgrade the units that have alot of water damage, broken utilities and deep clean the units with cockroach problems. Please call the pest control. Just cleaning on the surface is not gonna eradicate the cockroaches. It has so much potential to be a great place to stay.

Was terrible experience and extremely disappointed on the unit. book thru Agoda.com（The Wave Residence Melaka Kota Laksamana under lets stay management - 2 Bedroom Family Room unit no: B13A-09 than change to B06-12 both unit also very bad condition) The hold unit was dirty, even below sink was damage and dirty black, fridge also dirty with live insect inside. Floor wood tile already damage and can move when you step on it The pillow cotton very little till using double also feel nothing, pillow cover with black spot dot and like using for many years, bed sheet also dirty and yellowish. Cursing half dropping down and the clearner can just live it without repairing The sofa already damage and host just remove the bottom and leave the cushion on floor pretending sofa, it lower than the table and when sit on it totally collapse and my old mum nearly twice her back. 6. Floor mat dirty live never change, and the towel that been given already old and mouldy No wifi, no parking provided The picture that host showing totally different with the unit been check in. Although the host was changing me another unit but nothing different, the floor tile is coming up when step on it, smelly when just step in, bed is dirty, water pipe leaking, shower part shaking when use, aircorn hair fly out when on, water kettle was rusty and I don't dare to use.
