Luckily we just book for one night at this place, yesterday we choose kea farm garden guesthouse eventho the wifi there was bad but our phone line still good, the restaurant, cafe n market in walking distance, u can go to nearby strawberry farm, the sheep sanctuary or the butterfly farm, it take u not more than 10 minutes walking, i buy some fresh vege at kea farm morning market bcoz i read some review that kea farm market is more cheaper than the other place, i buy veg that i never try before n plan to cook at gerards coz i saw at the website that they have kitchen to cook, the place was nice, clean n have a lot of parking, i give two star for that.. but for other services i think i cannot give more.. i tot it would make me feel like home but wifi provided was very bad even my own data was so slow dunno why the line there was very bad, try to send WhatsApp picture also can't.. the receptionist not inform us anything about cooking rules, suddenly at night one indian aunty come bring some bread, jam n butter for tomorrow morning 🤨 she slightly mad at us bcoz we cook mackerel n veg that i buy earlier.. i plan to cook only two kind of simple dish which is the mackerel in chillies sauce n one type of veg, the mackerel only contains a little bit chillies, the aunty said we cannot cook with chilies or else the house will smell LOL 🤣 HOW COME.. COZ THE MACKEREL ALREADY CONTAINS CHILLIES INSIDE, she said that we only can cook simple thing, i dunno what simple cook mean by her, cook only instant noodles or only bread given by her maybe 🤔 its not like im cooking something with shimp paste that can make all house smelly 🤣 the smell not that bad la, i think she never try mackerel before, or never cook, she is very friendly with foreigner in the house, very talkative with them, owner of this place better tell us earlier or tell us recipe on what can u cook in the house 😌 what is more funny actually the aunty tot that we wanna make steamboat 🤣 she did warn us before she go to clean the things, LOL.. we know la aunty we r not kids, we never leave any place with mess, we feel very uncomfortable already to stay longer so tomorrow we will checkout EARLIER in the morning n go to somewhere else, oh ya checkout is on 11am remember n dont be late, so here is my suggestion.. u can put notice at ur website or at the kitchen that only if u book the whole house with ur family u can cook, or never cook at all, im not suggest this place...
Read moreBooked a double room 2 nights whith my wife to test the atmosphere, ended up extending our stay 2 nights more. Super friendly and helpful straff! The apartment has 3 double rooms and one of them has it's own bathroom. (Costs extra) Spacious living room which is nice to hang out in after hikes. Nice view from the porch/balcony over the jungle.
There is a kitchen with refrigerator so you can buy and prepare your own breakfast or something, BUT! It doesn't have a stove!! There is a water boiler and there is always free tea and coffee. The included breakfast consists of toast, butter and strawberry jam. So if you are planning a long hike, buy some extra food. There is also a laundry machine free to use!
The place is located just a little walk from Thana rata center but for us it was nice to be closer to the jungle than the busy streets.
Wifi here is not very good so if you need to prepare important stuff like booking airplane tickets or fixing visas go to town.
If we are coming back to Cameron heights we will defenatly...
Read moreI can only say one thing: you must stay here. Felt immediately at home, thanks to the nice cosy living room and offcourse, to the host, Jay. She really is the best host I ever had. She wanted us to have a nice holiday, and (partly) thanks to her, we had. She is a person we will remember. You get a lot of value for money as well. It is not expensive and still a lot of comfort for that price. Rooms with attached and with shared bathroom both are good, because you don’t share the bathroom with that many people and it is cleaned (well) daily. Good beds (a little hard but that’s always the case in Malaysia, still slept well). On top of that, it is really clean. Located at the edge of Tanah Rata center, so that you can walk to the center in like 10 minutes and at the same time enjoy a quiet environment, with views on the forest:) Breakfast was not included, but room price was also low. There are plenty of breakfast options in town, so it was no problem for us. And you might even order food via Grab...
