This is my 3rd time this year staying with Heritage CH. for the first two, my request has been a breeze with high floors and queen/king bed.
This time, the 3rd visit has put us in displeased, unpleasant and dissatisfied with the front desk till breakfast!
When we arrived during check-in, we booked the room online a week before and hence made a usual request with high floors and mountain view. This is because we are light sleeper and putting us on G/1st floor is diabolical!!!
Upon checking in, your front desk ms “NAJWA” greeted us with a very sour face and unwelcoming expression. Like “eww why are you even here ” expression.. not even a happy “Hi”, NO “welcome, checking in?” She just carried on looking busy infront of us with all the bookings on hand and showing us that she is busy, and can’t attend to us type of expression…
Well ok miss… I know you are busy, we don’t even wanna add on more work to your hands… she then checked us in and told us our room will be on the G floor… garden view.. knowing with our experience staying here before.. kids will be running and shouting as early as 7-9am.. and the store shutters will be opened by 9-9:30am. Don’t say I don’t know.. stayed here many times before…
Next after viewing the G floor room, we went down to ask for a change of room regarding our high floor request, she told us oh there is a room available but on the 1st floor…. As the hotel is fully booked… Really?? This time she put us facing the main entrance area…. It was worse because this again disturbed us with the opening of the shop shutters and motorcycles BROOMING 🏍️ 💨 wee hrs in the morning had turned us off so badly…. Thanks but this will be our last stay with Heritage.
Next, “breakfast” we attended breakfast at 9am sharp. Knowing that their hotel was full…. They don’t replenish their food items till atleast 9:30am.. all the waffles and pancakes were gone so as the beef slices. We asked the waitresses if they could pull out a few pieces from the kitchen as I liked the waffles before… but they all continued to be busy and left me with a “wait ya I check first” then disappears without any feedback till 10am…. Wow?!?! If you know your occupancy is that full…. Maybe try your best to accommodate the guests with simple requests???? Yes, you may not be a luxury hotel…. But it is the bare minimum we are asking for!!!! We paid for breakfast extra $$…. And we felt it was all a waste of money!!!
Terrible rooms and staff and accommodation...
Read moreMe and my bf overall enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Very comfy, very spacious. View at the balcony was amazing.
We initially opted to stay only 3D2N but decided to add on an additional day via the website. We emailed the hotel and they replied to confirm that they would help to extend without any additional charges or change of room. When we reached and approached the receptionist, she mentioned that our stay was for 2 nights. Upon checking of our email, they then quickly made arrangement to arrange for 3 days as we had already paid for the 3rd night. We also didn't need to change room. (Just needed to come down and get the card renewed for the extra day). Thank you for this prompt response and recovery.
We were happy to get the new wing building, 5th floor facing the other buildings and mountain- we were glad that we didn't choose to go for the Mountain view as we felt that that side of the view looked very dark at night at the balcony and we were worried there would be alot of insects coming from the forested area. We loved sitting at the balcony every night as we enjoy looking at the moon and stars and observing people downstairs. The room was not air-conditioned but the fan was sufficient enough to keep us cool and the temperature at Cameron was already very cold at night. We personally found the hotel location convenient enough to get to most places fairly quickly by vehicle. By foot, you would be able to find a nice cafe (Barrack), further up eateries, marts, even massage place etc. Moreover, it was very very quiet and peaceful (granted that you were as lucky to have other considerate guests) throughout the day. There were also ample parking lot spaces available, both outdoor and indoor.
Our facilities overall seem quite clean -bed, toilet, sofa etc. Our toilet had a bathtub as well as a separate shower so two people can literally bathe and shower at the same time. Hot water working well. Toothbrush, toothpaste, shower gel and hair shampoo, sewing kit were provided. We requested for room service on the 3rd day which they refilled everything except toilet paper (not sure if they forgot or supposed to be like this). Wifi speed can be improved alot more though, to make this trip even more perfect as it was too slow and often disconnect.
All in all, we loved our stay here and hope to be back with a similar good experience. Keep up...
Read moreI recently visited Heritage Hotel for an evaluation, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired.
Check-in Process: One positive aspect of my stay was the efficient check-in process. The reception staff was prompt and courteous, ensuring a smooth arrival experience for guests.
Hotel Condition: However, upon entering the premises, it became evident that this highland retreat is in dire need of renovation. The hotel's aesthetic is not charmingly antiquated but rather disappointingly outdated. The furniture, seemingly plucked straight from the 90s, adds to the overall feeling of being trapped in a bygone era. It's clear that the establishment has seen better days, and a fresh, modern update is long overdue.
Room Atmosphere: Upon entering my assigned room, I was greeted by a musty atmosphere that pervaded the space. Given the price of the accommodations, one would expect the hotel to invest in air fresheners or other measures to combat the stale odors. Additionally, the aging toilet and poor drainage in the bathtub further detracted from the overall comfort and functionality of the room.
In-Room Amenities: The in-room entertainment fell short of expectations as well. The television screen was heavily scratched, making it difficult to see anything clearly. This detracted significantly from the potential relaxation and enjoyment of downtime within the room.
Library Condition: One peculiar observation was the state of the hotel's library. Unfortunately, it appeared neglected, with dusty shelves and an outdated collection of Japanese books. While cultural diversity in literature is appreciated, the presence of predominantly Japanese titles seemed out of place in a hotel located in Pahang, Malaysia. This oversight detracted from the overall ambiance and coherence of the hotel's amenities.
Overall Impression: In summary, while Heritage Hotel boasts a fast check-in process, the overall condition of the hotel leaves much to be desired. From the outdated decor and musty room atmosphere to the poor condition of in-room amenities and the perplexing library selection, the hotel fails to meet the expectations set by its pricing. Therefore, I must regrettably rate Heritage Hotel below par, with a score of two out...
