This was the first meal I’ve had in the Cameron Highlands. I arrived by bus and was a bit exhausted from the journey, and also felt that I wanted a change from the south east asian food I’ve been eating the past couple of months. I went to search for dinner and ran into this restaurant, and I’ll just say that I’ve had a blast!
Most of the non-asian food I’ve had here in Malaysia was a big disappointment or just too Malaysian and completely different from the actual dish. This Kabsah however begs to differ!
The lamb meat was tender, juicy, tasty and very well cooked. Also, the portion was really good. It’s hard to tell from the picture how much lamb is there because it’s buried under the rice.
The tomato sauce is usually more red than that but that’s because the tomatoes they have there, at least that time of year (not sure), is green. But it doesn’t mean it’s not ripe or less delicious. It was super yummy.
The staff were also super kind and relaxed. I asked to drink tea that was planted in the Cameron Highlands and they offered me the tea for free! :)
Black tea with mint is also something I’ve missed so much from back home.

We kept returning to this restaurant during our stay in Cameron Highlands! They serve tasty, simple Arabic food. Our favourite was the Kabsa Lamb...and then we ordered a big pot of Arabic tea which was lovely! The staff are wonderful and friendly. The owner, a beautiful lady gave me a special gift (that she passed on to my husband to give to me when I wasn't there) I was deeply touched by this gesture. We ordered the set that had 2 kinds of meat - roasted chicken & lamb. It stated that it was sufficient for 2-3 people, we thought that the portion was only sufficient for 2. The lamb was cooked really nice & soft. Chicken Was alright. The sauce they served to be mixed with the rice is refreshing but super spicy. The person who took our orders was very friendly.
