Ordered a glass of hot water, forest mushroom soup and grilled sirloin steak - was cooked adequately to my request of "medium well" n potato wedges were nicely crisped. However the broccoli, cauliflower n carrots that came with it were undercooked ( I had to chomp down on them n they were not crisp like half-raw veggies would be, which tells me they're not fresh) but had burnt black bits all over (the cook should have cooked them in a clean pan!) and everything was overly salty. The steak had some spice seasoning AND salt, n the sauce that came with it was also salty I had to send the soup back as it was really too salty to swallow, tho the base was tasty enough n there were lots of chopped mushrooms, that is, cooked from scratch not from a can.

Steak was RM35.90, soup was RM14.90 n the water was RM1 (with no refills offered) totalling RM51.80 which I could pay with credit card. Special of the day was Softshell Crab Pasta (aglio olio I was told) at RM23.90 n scones set was RM9.90 which I would have liked to sample but I didn't have enough stomach.

The waitress was very hospitable n patient tho not so good with explanations of the menu. Garden ambience is ok, tho it's right beside the road, plants shield tables from passing traffic. If seated inside in the "barrack" there are lots of historical photos to read n look at. Near town, can park by roadside.

If not for the over-salted food which spoilt the whole experience, I would have said this was...

I was there very recently. And. Well. Life is what you make of it, and the cafe sure got things to look out for.

I have zero complaints about the food. Had a pesto something, and their scones, which to my taste, were amazing. I love it. Will i come here again for the food, absolutely. Kudos to the kitchen team for making such amazing food.

The place and ambience were great too. I truly enjoyed my time spent here. Was here around 3 pm or so the other day, and really enjoyed the place. Got here, and was greeted by a female waitress at the gate, which was great!

That 2 star review is here simply because of the somewhat impolite and one with poor conduct, of the female cashier (dark skinned, wears a head scarf).

God she need to learn some manners and polite ways to treat your customer. Or you can just change her post and put her behind the scene or something where she can keep all her tantrums to herself.

I’d love to come back for the food and the place. And i definitely will. The only one bad experience i had here was the interaction with the female cashier. Read previous reviews how others had bad experience with their female staff, didnt believe it, until i got one myself.

Definitely recommended...

Unfortunate I have to give such a low score as the food was to a okay standard. The service on the other hand was terrible. 40 minutes it took for a spaghetti and marinara sauce and some fries, this was not the complete order however. The remainder of the order, a smoked salmon salad, was in fact unavailable on the menu. Instead of informing us about this issue it took for my partner to enquire about where her salad was for the staff to turn round and say the salad was unavailable. This was over an hour after we had placed our order; wait times are usually long in Asia so hence why we gave it the benefit of the doubt for so long. To add insult to injury, we requested some tomato ketchup for our fries; as we tasted this ketchup I then realised it was several months past the expiry date which shows a genuine laziness amongst the staff. Asked to speak to a member of management as none of the staff were eager to assist in the problem and to no surprise, no manager available. Once again the food that arrived was decent quality but the customer service was very poor and the restaurant is quite evidently insufficiently organised. Not a special place whatsoever with no atmosphere and zero...

My family and I always visited this place every time we are in Cameron but the quality of the food has really gone down the drain these few months. Service is soso, I wouldn't say they were friendly or helpful, can't really expect much. The food has always been good but nothing spectacular. This time around, we ordered scones, onion rings, and some drinks for tea. The onion rings were okay. However, the scones... its odd shape... its gummy cold texture... and omg the jam, it was watery like syrup (see picture). I did ask the staff about the the jam and he claimed that it has always been that way (and I did check the Google Reviews from a week ago and the jam looked fine! It's like they just took the remaining jam and added water to it.) It was super disappointing as their scones has always been the highlight of our trip. The drinks missed the mark this time around as well. Their signature chocolate which was RM16+ tasted like any instant 3 in 1 packet same goes for the teh tarik which was RM6+ (I can get better and cheaper ones from the mamak stalls just down the road). For the price they are charging, I expect more than what I got.
