Read moreToday we came to Cameron Highlands, Malaysia. We are a group of 8 family members and all vegetarians. Being vegetarians, there is limited choice of restaurants we can visit and one member, myself am a jain is even more difficult. So coming to Cameron Highlands, after visiting the strawberry farm, flower farm, tea farm, we arrived at our hotel, strawberry park resort at 5.00 pm. We were all quite hungry so we freshened up and decided to go for an early dinner. On of our members who had arrived earlier a day before had been to yash banana leaf restaurant and highly recommended us to go there for vegetarian food. To our delight, we were very happy to see many vegetarian dishes offered. We had ordered, full thali, roti canai , masala dhosa, mee gorang, vegetable fried, rice, tofu and masala tea. All the food was really tasty and the price of each dish was amazingly reasonable. We all ate to our heart's content. For the jain food, I had plain Dhosa with masala tea. They could also make Chinese fried rice in jain option. Being in Malaysia for 14 days, today i really got the masala tea I really like ( compared to teh tarik, this was much lighter), it was what we have at our home everyday, really enjoyed. This is a must go place for all who visit...
Read moreMy partner and I liked this place so much that we came here twice! Day 1: We ordered a Banana Leaf Set with Vegetarian Curry, Maggie Soup, 1 Poori Set, and Lemon Teas. Altogether, we spent RM28.60. Everything was extremely tasty! It’s so fun to eat off a banana leaf and we later learned that it adds flavor to the rice. My partner had a sore throat and said that the Maggie Soup was very comforting. It had tofu, carrot, fish cakes, shrimp, and ramen noodles. The poori was well fried and the sauce we dipped it in was flavorful. The lemon teas had sugar added, but were tasty nonetheless.
Day 2: I wanted to try other items that we’d seen on the menu the night before, but we quickly learned that, for lunch, their menu has less options and every order has to have a Banana Leaf Set as its base. This is how we ended up with another Banana Leaf Set, but this time we had Mutton Masala and Cauliflower Fry. Altogether we spent RM32.80. The Mutton Masala sauce was amazing! The only bummer was that there were more bones than meat. My favorite was the Cauliflower Fry. It was a little bit spicy and I loved the dried basil.
I would absolutely recommend visiting if you’re in...
