spent two nights (Friday and Saturday) in Cameron Highlands with my bf. ||There's nothing that I would like to criticize about this budget hotel as it is just nice for us.||||Price||Satisfied with the price. We had a standard Double bedroom here for two nights with RM 209 only. Indeed, we intended to stay in another hotel (which is a famous budget hotel in Brinchang) before we chose Parkland Express. Yet,for me the famous budget hotel Snxxxx is too pricey because it costs almost RM 200 per night (surprisingly it's not even public holidays.... just a normal weekend). Thus, we chose Parkland Express due to its high rating on tripadvisor and reasonable price. ||||room and bathroom||Booked a Double room for two person. The room is spacious, clean and comfy. The bath room is clean as well with hot shower provided. Bath towels and hairdryer can be found in the room. :) In addition, the elevator is unique and fun. ||||Location||This hotel is very close to attractions and restaurants. e.g. 5 minutes walk to Brinchang night market. Besides that, it took us less than 15 minutes to go to bee farm, strawberry farm, butterfly farm, boh tea plantation and rose valley by car. But you need to be patience if you wish to go to Grape and tomato farm because it would be a little bit far (another 15 minutes by car). ||||restaurants nearby||Parkland express is in the heart of Brinchang (just opposite of KFC), you can easily find plenty of steamboat restaurants in less than 5 minutes. Yet, it seems like those kind of steamboat restaurants (rm20 per person, not buffet) on main street dont really serve two person. We went to 3 or 4 restaurants near to main street around 6pm, the restaurants were almost full, but we could still see people finished eating and left. Then we approached to the workers to ask for availability, yet almost all of the restaurants' workers told us that the restaurant is full. At the end, we went to the shoplot just behind the main street and we found a steamboat buffet which offering rm30 per person and we can eat all we can. This restaurant is much cleaner than those near to main streets...at least I found less flies. We had plenty of food selections here from seafoods, veges to fruits and even ice-cream. The most important, the boss is polite (not like those rude workers on main street) The boss is very friendly, he allowed everyone to come in and have a look at the buffet selection first before deciding. I would recommend this restaurant to couple because the environment is nice... not crowded with people. The boss also kept telling us that we didnt have to rush and we...
Read moreWe paid a seriously inflated rate as it was the holiday season and for the room size, we thought it really wasn't worth the money. There were not enough hooks to hang our towels. There is also only one miserable dressing table and towel hanger with 2 rotating arms to be shared in a room meant for 4! ||||We came as a family of 4 adults and were given a room facing the street. What we initially thought was a blessing turned out to be a curse. The street noise tend to be unbearable. We all struggled to sleep on the 2 nights we were there. The festive season meant fireworks were going off at all hours. The mosque closeby woke us up at dawn and it was not only the usual prayer session but a broadcast of a talk ('ceramah') that they had in the mosque that went on for a long time. After that, you will hear the garbage truck going about its business. Shortly, the whole place comes alive and there goes any hope of getting back to sleep.||||On our second night there, a woman staying in a room a few doors away from us had a domestic dispute and screamed her head off for hours (in her room, outside her room, down to the hotel lobby, in the streets, and back through all her pit stops all over again! This went on from 11 p.m. to wee hours. The hotel staff did not admonish her and her companion. It was a nightmare, truly. I'm not sure if you would get better luck in rooms at the back but bring your ear plugs with you. ||||The only blessing is the nice hot showers and the fact that there is a lift which is great for the elderly. Rooms are clean as it was nicely refurbished. It's close to restaurants and shops. ||||Parking is another nightmare so be patient and perhaps...
Read moreBooked a quad room for 4 person. The room is very spacious & comfy and the location of the hotel is just about 5 minutes walk to the famous Brinchang Night Market. Therefore there is no frill in finding parking in the night market anymore because you just have to walk! The hot water shower is working well (very important for cold place). The lift of the hotel is pretty fresh thing to me because of the design. It is totally different from conventional lift. It look more like future world lift. Lol! Sorry if i too exaggerate. Also hot and cold water dispenser are available in certain floor so it's quite convenient to get drinking water. If you like to experience steamboat in cold weather, there are plenty located just below and opposite of the hotel.||Ok, now there are only 3 downside. First, the hotel is located very near main road so it's kind of 'lively' at the night. However, I'm a deep sleeper and noise is not an issue to me but maybe to others who are particularly need very quiet place to sleep in. ||Second, the hotel doesn't actually provide parking. Tough thing to find parking especially when you come on weekend. There are a lot of parking lot in front of the hotel. BUT, there are many hotel at the same row so you need to fight for the parking with other hotel customer too. I don't feel like driving my car out after I parked my car because i turned few rounds for the parking, and it's an illegal parking place also as there are not parking lines.||Lastly, the free wifi. I'm not sure it is a unifi issue that is still happening, or the connection is really that bad. Actually I can connect to the wifi with full signal, BUT unable to online. I end up using...
