Disappointing Experience
I had high expectations when dining at Silverstar, but unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfying.
Food & Pricing:
The meal for four people cost RM321, which would have been reasonable if the food quality matched the price. However, it was overpriced for what we received. We ordered medium-sized fried rice, but what arrived was an extra-large portion with absolutely no taste. The Thai-style chicken dish was another letdown—it had no sauce, and the batter was thick and unpleasant.
The steamboat selection was even worse. All the meats were frozen, with nothing fresh on the plate. The prawns had a stale, unpleasant texture, making them inedible. For a restaurant that offers steamboat, freshness should be a priority, but it clearly wasn’t here.
Service & Management:
The customer service was extremely disappointing. The staff, mostly Bangladeshi workers, were rude and unhelpful, showing no interest in assisting customers. When we tried to share our concerns, the restaurant owners seemed indifferent and didn’t care about our feedback.
Overall Experience:
This was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had. The food lacked quality, the service was poor, and the management clearly didn’t care about customer satisfaction. Definitely not worth the price and wouldn’t recommend to anyone looking for a good meal.

Read moreOur Cameron trip on the first day was a nightmare the moment when we decided to step into this restaurant. If you’re reading this review, you’re lucky because u can avoid going there. They are really good at welcoming customers They let u to park in front of their shop and seated u, after ordering everything changed. The lady boss didn’t even bothered about the customers, took them so long to prepare our steamboat, when asked they didn’t even reply u or ans u or say sorry. The staffs were very rude especially the one with walking difficulty, he asked all of us must write out details in the booklet he said smtg like “if kena everyone kena will contact all of u” And he was also the one who sent our dishes to us with his mask on his neck and kept on shouting over our dishes it’s really unhygienic especially during this pandemic time ! The boss didn’t even take note of our requests just busy serving new customers. The food were really small in portion and charged too expensive. Taste wise average only. NO NEXT TIME, in fact last time came here before it was acceptable now changed ald if u see this u are lucky dun even come...
Read moreFirst, the good. The staff are generally polite and friendly and proactive. I liked that a lot. The clear stock (soup) for the steamboat is very good. The tom yum is decent but not the best in the world. The vegetables and noodles are free to take from the "buffet cart".
Now the bad. The portions are incredibly small and the prices thusly very steep. Like for what is given for a 2 person steamboat plate is still less than what I could eat by myself. One set of enoki mushrooms (we had 2 plates initially - 1 plate for 2 persons, a 2nd plate for 3 persons with 50% extra of everything) was old and shrivelled and not entirely clean while the other was succulent and fresh. The fish was excellent but very few, the meatball and fishballs (but not the spicy ones) were great but also had very few. The chicken, the octopus/squid (not sure) and pretty much everything else was not great and again had very small portions.
Our sweet and sour pork dish took forever to arrive but while the texture of the meat was excellent, the flavour was not.
Rice wasn't...
