We visited this charming Thai restaurant during our trip through Malaysia. Located in a cozy square in a small town, surrounded by other eateries, it has a lively atmosphere with round tables and vibrant lighting. The staff speaks sufficient English and was very accommodating. Given the affordable prices, we ordered a variety of dishes to sample as much as possible. The portions were generous, filling our table for three with an abundance of food. The staff clearly explained the ingredients and spice levels of each dish, which we appreciated. Tasty, but not exactly a 5 star establishment. We were convinced to come here by the numerous 5 star reviews, I mean it's nice but quite basic. The type of place that takes you back a couple of decades. Plastic table cloths and cutlery from a Tupperware tub. Our food was okay-ish, the Pad Thai was tasty although there we both got a distinct sense of sand in it. We also had one of the other signature dishes, the fried garlic rice with chicken, which was literally fried garlic, fried chicken and some steamed rice. Sans sand this time 👌. Really underrated restaurant. The food here is great, and the service is friendly and prompt. I recommend not getting white rice and instead ordering the pineapple fried rice if you are in a small group - the umami from the fried rice served to amplify the flavours of the other dishes, especially the seafood tom yum.
