I’m leaving this review inside the hotel room and as lively as it can get with the endless noise of vacuum cleaning, workers chatting while doing housekeeping, ongoing vehicles zooming and vrooming outside the road, busy sounds of plastic bags & slamming of doors like it’s a party right outside my room for the past 2 hours ! I have changed my room once , downgraded fr junior suite to king deluxe because i didnt want a room facing the main road but my my, like any other reviews i have read of M roof, this issue is not an isolated but a real problem of this hotel. Soundproofing is non existent and I am unfortunately an extreme light sleeper . It’s so noisy throughout day and night almost feel as though you r sleeping in the middle of roundabout !
U know im not the only paranoia when my 4 yr old told me as she woke up in the morning saying motorbikes could be heard from outside and she couldn’t sleep too well.
Yes it’s a old hotel but so is every other hotels in Ipoh n this is by far the worst when it comes to guest comfort qnd soundproofing. Swimming pool has zero maintenance , u see white powder lumps i suspect chlorine powder underneath the pool. Some of the tiles have broke and there was some still on the ledge of the pool which can be a hazard to children.
We swam yesterday and today we noticed the wet towels werent cleaned up at all with very few dry towels on the rack. This means they don’t usually replenish or watch the pool regularly, unlike any 3-4 star hotel. A very underwhelming impression
The room cleanliness seems alright to me but wait til u move the sofa and carpet by a slight centimeter and u uncover all the dust and in my case, popped balloon from previous guest -.-
Shower heater gets hot and cold and its not like we are staying in the highlands ! I asked for room makeup (i am staying two nights) and they only replenish the bathroom towels (i asked for 3 and they gave 2) , but the bed and duvet and blanket were totally UNDONE at all ! Was the request only for bathroom im really not sure as this is a first for me
Downstairs cafe was not operates by M roof but i must comment their coffee is the WORST ive tasted. U may try ordering it if you’re looking to get diabetes in a day. Fyi it didnt help even after changing to no sugar latte. The color is white and milky n tastes nth like coffee. I am speechless by how bad it can get
M Hotels used to be highly regarded by me but then again it was decades ago since they last opened. As with time everything withers and as u can tell they dont really respond to negative reviews anymore

Read moreI recently enjoyed a stay at Mroof Hotel’s studio apartment and was impressed by the comfort and amenities it offered. The apartment is spacious and well-designed, featuring two separate bedrooms, each with a king-size bed that ensures a restful night’s sleep. The private entrance adds an extra layer of privacy, making the apartment feel like a home away from home. The living room is a cozy, inviting space with comfortable seating, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring, and the city view adds a lovely backdrop.
The kitchen area is well-equipped with essentials such as a microwave, electric kettle, and refrigerator, making it convenient to prepare simple meals or snacks. The bathroom is modern and stocked with thoughtful amenities like bathrobes and complimentary toiletries, which add a touch of luxury. However, I was slightly surprised that the bathroom lacked a bidet, especially since we’re in Malaysia, where it’s typically a standard feature.
One of the highlights of Mroof Hotel is its rooftop pool, which offers a fantastic view of the city skyline. The pool is a relaxing spot to enjoy the surroundings, though it’s worth noting that it does not have a kiddie pool, which may be a consideration for families with young children. There is also a gym on-site, although I didn’t go inside to see the facilities.
While the apartment itself was comfortable, there were minor cleanliness issues that could be improved. The table in the living area had a bit of dust, and there was some grime in the bathroom’s crevices and corners. The kitchen sink showed slight signs of wear and could use a bit of upkeep. These were minor issues overall, and they didn’t detract significantly from the experience, but a bit more attention to detail with cleanliness would enhance the stay.
Overall, Mroof Hotel’s studio apartment offers excellent value with its spacious layout, thoughtful amenities, and convenient facilities like the rooftop pool. With just a few minor adjustments, this place would be truly exceptional. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-furnished apartment with a prime location and plenty of amenities. It’s a great choice for travelers looking for a blend of comfort and convenience...
Read moreTitle: Nightmare stay at M Roof Hotel, Ipoh.
My recent stay at M Roof Hotel in Ipoh was an utter disaster from start to finish. After changing rooms not once, not twice, but thrice, it became apparent that the issues plaguing this establishment were not isolated incidents but systemic failures.
Where do I even begin? The odorous stench that greeted me upon entry was only the tip of the iceberg. Each room seemed to have a unique blend of mustiness and decay, with an underlying aroma that left me questioning the hotel's commitment to cleanliness.
Dust bunnies took up residence in every nook and cranny of the bed, while the floors resembled a neglected dustbin rather than a sanitized sanctuary for weary travelers. The chairs and tables were caked with grime, a testament to the lack of attention to basic hygiene.
But it didn't end there. The shower heads dangled precariously, threatening to detach at any moment, while the cabinets refused to close properly, as if mocking our futile attempts at maintaining order in the chaos that was our room.
And let's not forget the amenities—or lack thereof. The hair dryer, a basic necessity in any modern hotel room, emitted a noxious odor akin to burning rubber, while the water heater played a cruel game of hot and cold, leaving me shivering mid-shower.
As if that wasn't enough, the windows offered little respite from the cacophony of the outside world, refusing to close properly and subjecting us to the incessant drone of passing traffic throughout the night.
To add insult to injury, our requests for a refund were met with nothing but indifference from the receptionist, who nonchalantly informed us that it would take "2-3 weeks" to process—a thinly veiled attempt to sweep our grievances under the rug and avoid accountability.
In conclusion, my experience at M Roof Hotel was nothing short of a nightmare. From the pervasive filth to the malfunctioning amenities and apathetic staff, this establishment has failed on every conceivable level. Save yourself the headache and avoid this hotel...
