When we arrived to check in, we were told the room we booked, the tv, was not working. So they gave us a new room. We asked to see the new room, to compare, they gave the excuse that it was sanitized and would not let us open the door. When we finally got into Room 107, we were shocked with the size of the room, different from the picture advertised. There were 3 single beds, which we asked for. We moved one of the beds to facilitate keeping our bicycles, to discover a lot of dirt and dust under the bed. Upon seeing this, we decided to check the filter of the aircon. They were absolutely filthy, haven't been cleaned for ages, so we washed them. There were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. We then proceeded to check the beds, the pillow covers and sheets smelled as if they had been washed. However the quilt covers felt greasy and did not smell clean, there was hair under them. The bathroom, in the corner tiles, the sealant had come apart and was hanging, stained brown. It had not been cleaned. The television was flat screened, however it was not the size of the picture advertised. It was tiny, about 18 inch by 12 inch, no facility for HDMI cable and only 4 channels. Encased in an angle bar steel bracket, which did not give us much confidence in leaving our valuables in the room unattended. On the website, tea and coffee were provided. In the room, there was no such thing, just two glasses and an empty jug. My father was sleeping in one of the beds, closest to the wall. In the morning, his right leg was covered in bug bites. There were no mosquitoes in the room. After we loaded the bike in the morning to go riding. I turned to the reception to ask if they could clean the room and give us new towels. We were told no housekeeping, only clean towel. In the advert, it says there is housekeeping. This was the final straw, we checked out after staying only one night, we had booked for two. Our mission in Ipoh this weekend was bicycle riding, we had already checked prior to our departure from Penang with the hotel, they had guaranteed us a place to keep our bikes. This is why we chose this hotel. We are sorry that we have to bring this to your attention but we have been let down tremendously...
Read moreI am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my recent booking made through Agoda at My experience with this hotel was extremely disappointing and stressful.
Upon my arrival at the hotel, I was shocked to discover numerous hidden charges and unreasonable rules that were not clearly stated during the booking process. The hotel demanded an additional RM30 per person for the 4th and 5th guests, meaning the room could only accommodate three people. For a family of five, this came to an additional RM60, which is absolutely unreasonable.
Furthermore, the hotel charged a CPT tax of RM3, which I understand and find acceptable. However, they also added another RM2.50 as a tax, but Agoda already added the tax included in the purchasing itself. Why there is another tax charging? This is completely unacceptable and misleading.
When I found out about the hidden charges, I decided to cancel the booking and look for another hotel. Before doing so, I asked the receptionist if I could get a refund, and she confirmed that I could as long as I contacted Agoda. I immediately called Agoda, and Agoda team placed me on hold while contacting the hotel management for approval. Unfortunately, the hotel ignored the request and refused to process the refund.
When I returned to the hotel, the staff changed their statement and said the management had refused to approve the refund. Since they would not refund my payment, I asked to proceed with check-in. To my shock, the hotel management refused to let me check in and even called the police.
When the police arrived, I explained the entire situation. Even the police officer could not understand or agree with the hotel’s unreasonable actions. The officer attempted to contact the management, but they refused to cooperate. I was then advised to make a police report. Only after I filed the report, the management suddenly agreed to let me stay at the hotel.
Throughout this incident, I struggled for almost three and a half hours, even though I am nine months pregnant. This was an incredibly distressing experience. On top of everything, the room was dusty, and the water heater was not working.

Read moreDuring check in time. There were 3 people at the counter and they told me that I have to wait till 2pm (In fact only around 10 minutes to 2pm). So I waited. Then another guest came in, they immediately checked him in!!!??? What!!!??? So? Who waited in the queue not being checked in but the later one could immediately gotten 🗝️? Then after I checked in, found out that the room given was not as per booked. Asked and being told room fully occupied!!! Then why allowed to book in the first place? Another worst thing.. the TV.. spoilt!!! As per Attached pictures.. all channels not being able to watch. Then why is the TV inside the room for? Haiz!!! Totally frustrated!!!l

Well, if your hotel know what is customer service, you should at least tell guest that you will check in others later than me as I was sitting there waiting. You asked guest to w polite and how about hotel staffs? Doesn't know what is politeness? Yes!!! Your hotel is a worst budget hotel with no service at all!!! And don't give excuses on your tv channels. If not working. Isn't that should inform me during check in? Your hotel gave free cancellation? No way!!! If not that's I called to Agoda to complaint .. your hotel totally don't care. I request to speak to the boss or in charge . Your staff said no one I could speak to. Why no guts to face guest? Anyway, it's a ban for sure!!! You want guests to be polite and please learn how to be polite first as you are opening a budget hotel for business. Without guests. Your hotel is nothing. I did not ask your hotel staffs to treat me like a king but at least know how to respect guests if needed to cut queue. Simple isn't it? I have been checking in to alot of big hotels and small hotels. Even budget hotels but none like yours.
