PLEASE LOCK ROOM 207 PERMANENTLY!
It was a terrible experience staying in this hotel. We were given Room 207 & 205. That bloody room was haunted. So much disturbance till we could not stay in that room for that night.
The lights were tripping off in Room 207. Then it forever went off. But the fridge and plug points were working. That was so fishy.
We went down to the reception to ask for help. She was fast asleep and came out like one blur case. We then told what happened and also asked if this room is fit to sell. She said ya all okay. She then took one long stick to go and check the DB box because it was situated right on top.
She came down asking us if anyone was sleeping in the room as she heard a snoring noise. We were like, all of us are here. Then she did not go up again to check.
We asked her to give an extra mattress, so we all can sleep over in Room 205. Her answer was she doesn't know how to fix the mattress. Like seriously?
We asked for another room, she immediately checked and gave us Room 216 without hesitating. We also asked for help to bring the single mattress from Room 205 to Room 216, she said no one is available at the moment whereas she was there. She did not offer to even help because madam was waiting when she could go back to sleep I think.
When we asked her if it was okay for us to drag the mattress from Room 205 to Room 216, she was like yes go ahead. We double confirmed again and she was like no problem at all.
We literally had to drag the mattress over and rest for a while. In the morning we went back to Room 207 to get ready and pack our things, again it tripped and it was no good sign. We immediately packed our things and got ready in Room 216.
Upon checking out, we asked again if this room was fit to sell, the morning duty person said there was a long stay guest which I wonder if the guest is still staying there. There was no issue at all. I told her to check the room before you open it for booking.
We left the hotel but we were still not feeling good, we checked with one Haji and found out the room is haunted. One guy commited suicide and the soul followed along. It may sound funny to those reading but the experience we went through, it spoiled our whole trip. It could have caused more trouble if we continued to stay in that room.
I WANT A FULL REFUND OF MY STAY WITH THIS HOTEL. WE DID NOT UTILIZE THE ROOM. WE COULD NOT SLEEP IN PEACE. IT WAS A...

On the way back to KL from Perlis, I got really exhausted from being stuck in traffic. So I decided to crash in Ipoh for the night and continue the journey the next day. Booked a room via Agoda around 10:30 PM, and only managed to check in at midnight. Since I just needed a place to sleep, I looked for a hotel under RM200 per night — and ended up at M Boutique Hotel Station 18.
A double room with a window cost RM152. If you don’t mind not having a window, it’s around RM102 or so (if I remember correctly). No breakfast included. The room had a window but nothing fancy about the view.
The hotel takes up a few shop lots and is located near Aeon Mall Station 18 Ipoh (walking distance – about 500 meters). No dedicated hotel parking, just street parking right in front. But they had a guard on duty at night.
What’s cool about this hotel is that every corner — from the entrance, lobby, lift, hallway, right up to the room — is decorated with a vintage industrial vibe. You can really see the effort they put into it. The room amenities were complete, and there wasn’t a single thing that made me go “oh, this looks cheap.” Every item seemed carefully chosen, even the hotel slippers weren’t the usual thin, flimsy white ones. The room and bathroom were super clean, bed and pillows were comfy — definitely deserves praise.
According to Google reviews, they usually collect a RM100 deposit, but I wasn’t asked for any. Express check-in & express check-out — they didn’t even check the room when I left. If I had broken anything in that beautiful and tidy room, they wouldn’t have known! Again, they deserve a shout-out for this.
I really enjoy giving reviews like this because even though it’s just a few shop lots and not a stand-alone building, you can tell the hotel owner is passionate about hospitality and really wants to give the best service to guests. For RM150 a night, I’d say it’s...
Read moreI stayed in the King Size Room with a window for 2 nights, 3 days. I had a room on the first floor. The floors are wooden, and so are most of the furniture in the room.
Pros: Budget-friendly (if there's a discount) Air conditioning worked fine
Cons: Dusty and not clean: The corridors and room were dusty. I found a previous tenant's used, blood-stained underwear left hanging on the hanger. The pillows are old and do not support the neck. Bathroom: There was mould on the ceiling above the shower. The towels had holes in them from wear and tear over time. Lack of soundproofing: There was no soundproofing whatsoever, I could hear my neighbours from the same floor and above me when they enter/exit their rooms, footsteps, talk, use their bathrooms, TV, and the noise from outside the hotel. I've called the receptionist multiple times during the night about the noise but nothing was done. Receptionists: The staff are undertrained. They had difficulty understanding questions/requests in English or Malay. Parking: The parking isn't free and uses normal street parking, so be mindful of leaving any valuables in your car. Speed of elevator and lack of stairs: The hotel only has 2 floors (excluding Lobby/Ground floor) and has 1 elevator that is slow and the buttons are old and difficult to press. I asked for the stairs in case of emergencies or if the elevator is full, and was informed that the stairs are attached to the Japanese restaurant and are only available for use when the restaurant is operating, making it a...
