Serai Restaurant Subang Empire is a popular spot for Malaysian cuisine, and for good reason. The food is delicious, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I started my meal with the Oxtail Assam Pedas, which was a hearty and flavorful dish. The oxtail was cooked until it was fall-apart tender, and the assam pedas sauce was a perfect balance of sweet, sour, and spicy. For my main course, I had the Nasi Kerabu, which is a traditional Malaysian dish of rice cooked in coconut milk and turmeric, and served with a variety of side dishes. The nasi kerabu was flavorful and aromatic, and the side dishes were all delicious. I finished my meal with the Serai Platter, which is a selection of Serai's signature dishes. The platter included the oxtail assam pedas, the nasi kerabu, and a few other dishes. I was impressed with the variety of flavors on the platter, and I enjoyed every bite. Overall, I had a wonderful dining experience at Serai Restaurant Subang Empire. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal. Here are some of the pros and cons of Serai Restaurant Subang Empire: Pros: Delicious food Friendly service Warm and inviting atmosphere Wide variety of dishes to choose from Affordable prices Cons: Can be a bit crowded on weekends Parking can be difficult to find The restaurant can be noisy at times Overall, Serai Restaurant Subang Empire is a great place to enjoy a delicious meal with friends or family. Disclaimer not a fusion food lover.

When you walk into the restaurant the first thing that hits you is the smell of fresh lilies of the valley. senses awaken at at go walking into the restaurant Ambience is perfect and the servers will always try to accommodate your orders and needs. I had been to both their PJ Jaya shopping center as well as Empire branch both are equally packed during lunch, dinner and weekends. Five stars for ambience and service. The menu boasts a huge variety of local Malaysian favourites as well as dishes from chinese malaysian cooking and from the east coast like their nasi kerabu. Their desserts are normally rich and heavy caloric counter breakers. Overall the food is just a little above average. Nothing that over drives the taste buds. This is something I could appreciate because I know what I would be getting everytime. I personally love their nasi kerabu, steamed sweet sour fish and their satay. if you are planning to clean eat this won't be the place for it. Out of all the fusion restaurants I could say I like Serai the most. Desserts are a little over the top and it leaves an over satieted state of sugar OD. else a decent weekend go to eatery.

It was a surprise birthday party arranged by my husband with my family which was wonderful. Went there for lunch their staffs are friendly and helpful. Can’t booked by phone so it seems like my husband arranged as a walk in lunch party. The food were served nicely but for me were pricey and taste average. Won’t say it’s delicious but won’t say taste less. For the price the food served were pricey for me. Husband ordered biscoff chocolate cake as a surprise birthday cake. It was delicious. But pricey I would say per peice RM19. Ordered chicken burger for me. The mushroom gravy was too salty but the burger was nice. Nasi kerabu was out of point no nice at all. Nasi goreng average taste but the satay came with it was nicer. Kuey teow and Tyme and lime chicken were average. Overall I would rate over priced food with average taste. Their drinks also were over priced for normal tasted drinks. Like you are paying RM15 for normal glass of fresh juice. Which wasn’t fresh tho as they added sugar. Tried Serai long time ago and not a favourite of us. But it was a nice environment at the edge of the restaurant where it was privacy and far from crowd.

I’m usually an easily pleased customer, but my iftar experience at this branch was far from satisfying (visited on 28/3/25). Experiencing this level of service, especially on my birthday, was utterly disappointing. This branch is nowhere near the standard of its peers in the Serai Group. Details of my experience: 1.There was a noxious stench throughout the dining space. 2.Waiters were nowhere to be seen most of the time. A waitress even fled from my table during service after I called her to place an add-on order. 3.The food was subpar at best. I ordered the fish and chips and was served an excessively oily fish with a side of mushy fries. I’ve seen better cooking at roadside stalls. No complaints about the Malay dishes, but the Western cuisine needs an urgent overhaul. The best part about this branch? It’s near Jaya Grocer, so I could cleanse my palate with a can of Monster Energy afterward. It’s safe to say I won’t be coming back, but I hope improvements can be made because you guys aren’t running a charity.
