KAFE FUSION 21 — Restaurant in Subang Jaya

Seeing all the positive reviews, I give it a try at this restaurant. I ordered Hainanese Chicken Chop Rice. I have to say the taste is horrid. The tomato based sauce is salty instead of sweet. This is a bad pair of taste. The chicken chop, although it is crispy, there is a "frozen" chicken aftertaste. They did not thaw the chicken long enough.

*I am adding my reply here after seeing the owner reply and accusing me as competitor, but in fact I am just a normal foodie with good taste buds. The owner shouldn't really reply in such an obnoxious and sarcastic way. The owner should have an open mind and find out what's wrong with the food and improve on them, rather than arguing with customer who gives their honest opinion.

*Note that I actually give high rating on the atmosphere and the service.

• The owner is just not professional who can't accept the truth. The chicken has frozen taste, that is a fact. Tis alone is enough to give a 1 start. Please taste your own food first before serving to customer. The tomato sauce is salty instead of sweet. Sour goes with sweet, not salty. Every culinary chef knew this basic. It is constructive enough but yet the owner denying and turning a blind eye on this? You just need to improve, why argue with customer?

*Yes, I adjusted the rating because I feel that the food has frozen taste, and worst still d owner attitude being so unprofessional. For a chicken chop that I was charged RM19 higher than outside, it does not need to taste heavenly but at least not unthaw or frozen chicken. Furthermore, I am a paying customer and this is my own opinion, it is freedom of speech of customer, why the owner need to dictate and force customer to give 5 star to his food when it is not? I recently dined at Fusion 21 in Subang Jaya (USJ 21), and it was an exceptional experience! The restaurant offers a delightful range of Western cuisine, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious.

My personal favorites were the Carbonara and the Lamb Chop. The Carbonara was creamy and rich, with perfectly cooked pasta and a generous amount of beef bacon – it’s easily one of the best I’ve had. The Lamb Chop, on the other hand, was cooked to perfection – tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The portion sizes were generous, and the presentation was top-notch.

The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for both casual dining and special occasions. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed for an enjoyable meal.

The grilled chicken chop was perfectly done—tender, well-seasoned, and served with mashed potatoes and fresh coleslaw. The complimentary dessert (part of the Mon-Wed lunch promo) was a delightful surprise, with just the right balance of sweetness, creaminess, and a hint of tartness from the raisins.

My elderly mum, who has a very refined taste in food, kept praising the fish for its quality, light crispy batter and well-balanced sweet and sour sauce.
