Tasty Porridge • 品粥 • USJ Taipan — Restaurant in Subang Jaya

Been buying porridge from this outlet for the last few months for the kids & they like eating it - weekly once or twice.

I've been buying the chicken & golden pumpkin porridge only. Never tried any other dishes though. I find the porridge pricing is slightly on the high side, but if quality & quantity is maintained then I'm OK with it.

I find the chicken porridge could be a hit & miss at times, once had the porridge a little runny (not thick) & twice had the porridge taste sourish/tasteless a little - suspect proper condiments/oil were not put into the porridge - this is definitely quality issues.

Staffs in this outlet could be a little cold, not bothered to greet & welcome customers in my POV. Understood you are running a business, but also it involves customers...so, pls train your staffs to be a better customer oriented person.

The outlet is clean & can get busy during peak meal hours. Parking is a headache in Taipan USJ! But there is a public carpark right opposite this place - so not too bad...

Nice place to have a hearthy bowl of tasty porridge to satisfy the soul. Decided to come here on a rainy Friday evening. Ordered their mince pork and century egg porridge, sliced ginger fish (served in a claypot too), and some soya sauce steamed peanuts. The porridge was good. Fish quite tasty tho' portion was small. Peanuts would have been better if they were softer and more flavourful. Also ordered their honey lemon iced green tea which was quite pleasant and refreshing.

Waitress was friendly. They greet you when you enter their shop. I did not like their scan QR code to order ststem (being old school) and requested for a paper order form and pencil which they did give me. One more negative thing was that their air-con main switch kept tripping and going off multiple times whilst I was there having my meal.

But all in all, a satisfying meal. A place to have consistenly good tasting porridge. Many choices of...

I have frequent Tasty Porridge since the husband and wife opened it in USJ. Throughout the years, their standard has been consistent even during MCO.

Just as any other businesses, there were times when the standards dropped slightly. Yet, they are able to improve quickly and surprise the customer with innovative menu options and services.

Today, I was ready to have their Oysters Porridge. Unfortunately, it was no longer on the menu. Due to the service and my trust towards the quality of their food, I decided to have minced pork with eggs combos, which I enjoyed till the end.

Sometimes, as customer, we have to undestand that it is better to remove an item that cannot meet the quality, or the cost is too high, than to disappoint customers.

The price are reasonable and still my no.1 place for a good bowl of heart...
