The Rica was fine for what we needed (six days of not much to do but sightsee) it’s down off the beaten track a little bit but surrounded by shopping malls and plenty of places to eat shop and there’s a cinema that shows some English speaking films. The room was compact with the small necessities like a kettle, shampoo and body wash. We had a room without windows, which for us was absolutely fine. It was nice not to have the Sun coming too early.
Hotel staff were adequate, they receive you, you pay a refundable deposit for your door card, they pretty much leave you alone after that unless you have any questions.
It’s away from the main city centre so we had to travel in and out to any of the attractions we wanted but the train station is a seven minute walk.
We recommend going to the train station and get a tourist travel card (in London, it works like an oyster card). Top up is simple go to a ticket office. I was charged additional fees that were double the amount I had initially booked for, without any clear explanation. There was no assistance provided with carrying my luggage, which added to the poor service. The room I was given was very disappointing; it had no window for ventilation, was excessively humid, with a dirty ceiling and an unclean bathroom. The location was also very inconvenient, being approximately 27 kilometers away from the city center, making commuting difficult and uncomfortable. Honestly, this was the worst hotel experience I have ever had, and I do not recommend staying at this hotel under any...

I hardly find a Hotel like this one in Malaysia. I'm impressed by this Family-run Hotel.
I would rate it as a higher star Hotel based on it's affordable yet superbly comfy (I am well-rested :), Professional Customer Service by i.e one of the staff would help showing me toward the room himself when I asked for an example picture (this is what kind of service in Malaysia we need, not the lazy ones ;) and last but not least it's their welcoming gesture in the room.
I'll come again next time, God...
