Hello I don't usually post reviews here but i feel like i really have to this time. I live in the middle of KL but i study in Subang and Sukiya has been my favourite thing to eat for the past few years now bcs i love the taste of the sukiyaki broth. I've been to 4 different Sukiyas (Pavilion KL, Pavilion Bukit Jalil, MyTown, and this one) but what makes this Sukiya stand out is the service and atmosphere. I'm not going to talk about the food much bcs all Sukiyas taste the same.
I grew up as an only child so I tend to keep to myself and I enjoy quiet places so I feel like in terms of atmosphere, this Sukiya is perfect for me bcs it's usually empty and quiet. I feel like it's basically my natural habitat.
Other than that, I feel like the service here is a strong 10/10. The waiters are very friendly especially kuya Eric. I would come to this Sukiya a lot after a long day or in between classes and seeing his cheerfulness and positive attitude would make me feel better and also make my day. He would usually make his "special sauce", which is really good I feel like everyone should try it at least once in their lifetime, for me to dip my beef in. I also remember there was this once i was not feeling well and kuya Eric gave me a Filipino ointment and it made me feel better. I've also observed that kuya Eric also has a great relationship with his colleagues.
Sukiya all over KL is doing well bcs of the food, but what keeps customers coming back for more is the excellent service and i feel like Sukiya would be leading in terms of service in the Malaysian Restaurant Industry if every single employee radiates a bright and positive energy while working and also showing that they care for the wellbeing of their customers like kuya...

I had high hopes after the renovation, but sadly, the overall experience was very disappointing. First of all, the atmosphere is now so cramped and uncomfortable — it feels like they tried to squeeze in more tables without considering customer comfort. There’s hardly any space to move around, and it completely ruins the dining experience.
The service was another major letdown. The staff seemed overwhelmed and unprepared. It’s clear that they are understaffed and not properly trained to handle the number of customers. We had to wait too long for basic service, and there was no proper attention given to our table.
As for the food, it was honestly the worst part of the visit. I ordered garlic rice, but it had no garlic taste at all. It was bland and tasted like plain rice. The sushi was disappointing — not fresh, poorly prepared, and lacked flavor. Even the vegetables served were not fresh, which was shocking for a place that’s supposed to serve quality ingredients.
Overall, it was a complete waste of time and money. I expected so much better. I hope the management seriously looks into improving the food quality, training the staff, and rethinking the space layout. Definitely won’t be returning...
Read moreWhy i come here? Simple, the beef slice is fresh (probably the best if compared with other steamboat or shabu shabu), not the first time here and I enjoy every single time. Yet, not so much like of chicken or lamb here.
The ingredients is fresh(most of it), sometimes got 1 or 2 items not so fresh (but still can consume lah), overall is a happy steamboat experience. Staff is okok (sometime good and sometime hard to get their attention), environment is ok. Try to come early cause sometime people start making queue after 7pm, and they probably stop customer come in at 8.30pm (if not mistaken).
I make my own sauce with their garlic sauce, then add on little of cili padi, garlic, chives, coriander and 2 drops of sesame oil.
Always start with white tofu and veges in Shabu Shabu soup, then follow by beef, circle tofu, sausage etc..and always end with Udon noodle in the Kimchi soup that already absorbed essence of meats and other...
