Welcome to the Mosquito Pit, i survived but no tee shirt.
If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to survive a night in a mosquito-infested sauna, look no further than Arena Beach Hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by an air of despair and the distant hum of construction — a soundtrack that would later become our relentless bedtime lullaby.
Our room was hotter than the Serengeti Desert at high noon. The A/C gasped for breath like a fading Hollywood starlet, barely clinging to relevance. Despite its valiant effort, it could not stand up to the heat. We quickly discovered the real occupants of the room — the mosquito mafia. Stealthier than a 007 agent, they crept in undetected. We managed to eliminate three on our first night, only to meet their leader the following evening. After an intense showdown, we waved the white flag and booked another hotel.
Breakfast was a revelation in its own right. Chicken sausage? No, no. What we were served was undeniably a hot dog in disguise. It was the kind of breakfast that made you reflect on your life choices. As for hydration, forget it. The hotel’s strict water bottle policy dictates that unless the last drop is gone, no replacement shall be granted. Water conservation or just pure stinginess? You decide.
Need to reach your room? Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime. The elevator boldly stops at the 6th floor, and the rest of the journey is an invigorating stair climb. By the time you reach your room, you’ll feel like a victorious mountaineer — except instead of a breathtaking view, you’re rewarded with a bathroom-turned-sauna. Ventilation is a foreign concept here, making every shower a test of endurance.
The lobby bathroom deserves a special mention. Let’s just say, it could be a contender for a horror movie set. Between the odor and the eerie ambiance, I wouldn’t be surprised if it had its own IMDb credit.
On the positive side, the hotel does offer reasonably priced activities. But good luck enjoying them after a sleepless night serenaded by the sweet sound of midnight construction. If tranquility is what you seek, I hope you’ve mastered the art of sleeping through the rumble of machinery.
In short, Arena Beach Hotel is not for the faint of heart. It’s a place where mosquitoes rule, the heat oppresses, and the concept of comfort is as elusive as a fresh water bottle. Stay here if you dare — but consider this your...
