Giving 1 star since there is no option to give zero. Six of us went there for dinner thinking that we will get vegetarian options as they serve Indian food. On ordering “Paneer tikka” we were served some fish curry dish. Thinking that it is paneer we were almost going to eat it until one of our kid who ate it first said that this doesn’t taste like paneer. It was served on everyone’s plate and one other person had already tasted the gravy. When we told the waiter he acknowledged the mistake and took back all the plates in which the dish was served. We then spoke to the manager who started justifying that it was someone else’s order and that we will have to pay for what we ate. We said that we will only pay for the other dish which was ordered and one person ate it. The manager, his name was Hasan was not at all apologetic about it and showed complete apathy towards this sensible matter for someone who is pure vegetarian and never eaten any meat in the entire life. We said we want to talk to the owner but were not allowed to. Ultimately we left from there without having our dinner. People who are looking for vegetarian options should avoid...

Delicious Food and Excellent Service! We dined at Aveli restaurant for both breakfast and lunch during our stay. The breakfast buffet offered an impressive selection, including an omelette station. We especially enjoyed the variety of breads and spreads, and the hot food options. the inclusion of the Maldivian dishes was a bonus.

For lunch, we opted for the Indian a la carte menu (though there were other options on offer). The garlic naan and butter chicken were delicious. While the biryani was a bit softer than I prefer, the egg masala was decent. The juices were fresh and tasty, although a bit pricey.

The waitstaff, particularly Rasika, was incredibly friendly and helpful. He provided excellent recommendations for activities on the island and was always patient with our questions. Manoj and the rest of the team were also fantastic.

Unfortunately, the restaurant lacked air conditioning, making it quite hot. The fans offered some relief. Additionally, the water prices were significantly higher than those found in local shops (USD 2.00 vs USD 0.60). Overall, a great dining experience with friendly service, compared to some of the other...

We had a truly wonderful experience at Aveli Restaurant during our stay at Kaani Grand Seaview. The hospitality was exceptional — the staff went above and beyond to ensure every guest felt comfortable and welcomed. From the moment we arrived, their warmth and attentiveness made a lasting impression.

A special thanks to Nazim, Anjali, Jussica, Ashin, Sabbir, and Momin — each of them worked incredibly hard and showed genuine dedication in making sure everything was perfect. Their friendly smiles, professionalism, and care for every detail truly stood out. Whether it was helping with food recommendations, checking in on our comfort, or simply chatting with us in a kind and respectful way, they made the dining experience feel personal and memorable.

We could clearly see that the team puts a lot of effort into creating a positive atmosphere for guests. We highly recommend Aveli Restaurant to anyone visiting the area — both for the delicious food and the outstanding...

Hands down the best place for a curry on the island! As a Brit who loves a good Indian meal, I can honestly say the food here was fantastic. The meat was tender and high quality, the curries had plenty of rich, flavorful sauce, and everything was served piping hot. We’ve been here twice now and tried a variety of dishes: butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, egg masala, chickpea masala, vegetable samosas, and pakoras—each one full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The staff were polite, friendly, and genuinely attentive. We were even asked about our preferred spice level, which we really appreciated as we love a bit of heat! The restaurant itself is clean, well-kept, and comfortable, making it an easy place to relax and enjoy a great meal. If you’re looking for Indian food on Maafushi Island, this is the place to go. Highly recommended!
