All good things must end sometime, so the 12 days that we spent at the Arena Beach hotel in Maafushi were amazing and I didn't want them to finish.
We got a room at the 7th floor with an amazing sea view. Even if the room was clean and cleaned every day, and the stuff was amazing, the room itself lacks some small repairs like: the AC is dripping water inside the room when is On; the shower door was not closing properly making the shower water to get into the bathroom; the wardrobe doors were squeaky which is unpleasant especially if you are having a nap. I state all these because the hotel is rated to 4.5stars and I think they should fix these small things.
In the first night we arrived, after more than 20h on the road and almost no sleep, there was a beach party and the music was really loud, the room was vibrating and we got scared that if it will be like this all night, every night, it will be horror. But when we asked we were told that the music will stop at 11pm, which happened and we were able to fall asleep on the waves sound. In this way you have room for partying and sleep as well. So don't be scared about the loud music because some are really good parties, like live DJs, live bands, local music band called Bodu Beru.
We booked 8 excursions in 12 days and all of them were exceptional, great experience, extraordinary tour guides and tour stuff. The only thing not worth it is the fishing trip, even though the fishing staff was amazing and really professional. For us it was like this: you go and fish and after that they cook the catch for your dinner, but is a bit frustrating when you catch more than 40fish as 12 people and in the end you get served 3 fishes for 4 people with a bit of rice and salad, I felt a bit like I was cheated, maybe because we were still hungry in the end.
We booked breakfast and dinner as you have lunch provided in almost all the trips. Breakfast and dinner are buffet, the food is really good, diverse and each day something else.
But leaving all these small problems aside the whole trip was something really memorable and not only because Maldives is indeed a paradise, which has garbage as all of the places where humans have been, but especially because of the local people and the stuff.
I would like to give a big thank you for all of you which provided us a really remarkable experience.

Read moreWe stayed at Arena Beach in March 2025. The room was fantastic—clean, spacious, and with a breathtaking ocean view that was an absolute must-have. The staff was incredibly kind and made our stay even more special. A special shoutout to Hasim, one of the friendliest team members, and to everyone managing the buffet area—they truly handle a lot (especially with messy guests!). Also, a big thank you to our boat drivers, photographers, and the entire excursions crew for making our experience...
