I recently had the pleasure of visiting Melon Restaurant, and I must say it has truly become my favorite dining spot in Maafushi. Melon Restaurant exudes a calming and peaceful vibe that instantly transports you to a world of tranquility and culinary delights.
Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff and waiters were exceptionally friendly, always ready with a smile. What stood out even more was the genuine care shown by the owner himself. He took the time to engage with each guest, making sure our needs were met and ensuring a memorable experience.
One of the unique features of Melon Restaurant is the variety of dining options available. You have the choice of three distinct settings. The outdoor cozy garden area provides a delightful experience, surrounded by lush greenery. The non-air-conditioned section boasts excellent interior design, creating an inviting and comfortable space. Lastly, the air-conditioned area incorporates a traditional Maldivian touch, adding an authentic flair to the dining ambiance.
Now, let's talk about the food. Melon Restaurant's culinary offerings are nothing short of exceptional. The menu showcases a diverse selection of dishes. Whether you're a seafood lover, a fan of international cuisine, or prefer traditional Maldivian delicacies, Melon Restaurant has something to satisfy every palate.
Melon Restaurant has captured my heart with its tranquil ambiance, friendly staff, and exceptional dining options. Read moreDuring our recent trip, we had the pleasure of dining at this delightful restaurant not once, but twice. Our first visit was for dinner, where we decided to try the sandwich and noodles. To our delight, both dishes were absolutely scrumptious. The sandwich, with its perfectly toasted bread and fresh, flavorful fillings, was a treat. The noodles, on the other hand, were a delightful surprise, combining a wonderful mix of spices and textures that danced on the palate.
On our second visit, we opted for a more casual experience and went for what we thought would be a light snack. We ordered coffee, juice, and waffles. The coffee was brewed to perfection, offering a robust flavor that was the perfect pick-me-up. The juice was fresh and invigorating, making it an excellent companion to our meal. The waffles, a delightful blend of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, were served with just the right amount of syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar, making them irresistible.
Another noteworthy aspect of this establishment is the service. The staff was exceptionally courteous and efficient. They were conversant in English, which made our experience smoother, given that we were tourists. Additionally, their acceptance of dollars was a convenient touch, sparing us the hassle of currency exchange.
Overall, our experiences at this restaurant were memorable. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a must-visit spot. We're already looking forward to...

Soooo if you enjoy a good meal and a side of unintentional spelling puzzles, then MELON RESTAURANT by Maladiwa is the place for you. Before even taking a bite, you’ll embark on an intellectual challenge—"Find the Misspelled Words." I personally counted 12, but if you find more, congratulations! You’ve unlocked the bonus round.
Once you decipher the menu, you’ll be rewarded with some solid food choices. The Salt & Pepper Calamari and Shrimp were fresh—not a trace of frozen mediocrity in sight. The Mozzarella Balls, made in-house, were simple yet incredible, proving that sometimes, less is more. Then came the Teriyaki Beef—or should I say, “Teriiyakii Beef”—served sizzling hot, erupting with rich, savory goodness. A true volcano of flavor, minus the lava.
However, not all dishes hit the mark. The Chicken Parmesan was a letdown—deep-fried and as unseasoned as a blank canvas. A good pan-fry would do wonders here. The pasta? Clearly blanched ahead of time and reheated, a technique that keeps the process quick but sacrifices that fresh, al dente bite.
Thankfully, the ambiance was pleasant, and the A/C was a lifesaver. Nothing beats cooling down with a banana smoothie after a sizzling plate of beef.
Overall, MELON RESTAURANT delivers on quality and value, as long as you can overlook the spelling landmines and a couple of uninspired dishes. Would I return? Absolutely. No ragrets. Not...
