Honest review. The place is beautiful! The private pool was amazing, as was the bigger public one on the bottom floor. I think the location is definitely my speed, considering how crazy the other side of the island can get. As long as you have transportation, this isn't an issue. I do have some gripes. First of all, there was almost zero light blockage in the master bedroom. This is not OK. The sun comes in hard at 7AM, and it woke me up. As well, construction started every morning at 745AM for some building directly next to this complex, and it made it impossible to get sleep beyond that point. When I'm on vacation, waking up before 8 simply isn't what I want. The wifi didn't work for the first half of my trip which caused me to lose out on revenue from 2 very important meetings. I know not everybody needs wifi, but it's 2021, and a lot of us are working remotely. For the price this place charges, having broken internet is not acceptable. They did address it for the last 2 days. The last thing is the safe in the closet. This message is directly to the owners - the safe weighs 4 pounds and can go into a backpack. If someone wants what's in it, all they have to do is walk out with it. YOU HAVE TO BOLT THE SAFE TO THE SHELF OR ITS USELESS. I ended up hiding my expensive belongings and passport deep in the kitchen cabinets, because this was a more secure place than a 4 pound safe that isn't bolted down. Overall, I think this is a very nice place, but for the price I paid, I don't think the value was there. Fix these things and it'll be worth...
Read moreBeautiful home in a beautiful location. Very low key and relaxing. In addition, I felt very safe. There was always someone at or around the front door monitoring it.
The grounds were very well maintained. And the pool was very clean.
The hosts were very quick to respond and help us with any of our needs or wants. We were able to get a Taxi within 5 minutes anywhere on the Island. It was a very easy process.
We loved our stay. The beach club across the street was $10 per person to enter. It wasn’t anything spectacular but we would come and go as we pleased and they didn’t care if you brought your own food or drink. I wish it was $10 per person each day. It got a little costly.
And be aware, the food in the surrounding area is more expensive than you would think. We went out a few times - and it was always over $100 which was surprising. Like the Joint had good food but Margaritas were $16USD - like that’s NYC prices. As a result, we went grocery shopping to make some food at home.
The home had bottled water for drinking purposes and cooking purposes. It was a nice touch.
It had plenty of towels and storage.
All in all it was a great location. Just be mindful - you are away from...
Read moreThis was our first time to visit Isla. We were celebrating a birthday/anniversary. I could not have been more pleased with Sotavento Isla. We were in unit 6 (I believe).
We loved everything about our stay. The private infinity pool had breathtaking views and was the perfect place to relax. The downstairs patio had the same amazing view and a great place to enjoy morning coffee. The bed was very comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet, and a just short golf cart ride to the livelier areas.
Hector was top notch. He organized all of our transportation, to and from the ferry, and from the ferry to the condo. He was very accommodating. Our flight was several hours before check in. He stored our luggage so we could start exploring the Island, on the golf cart he had prepared for our arrival. Our first cart decided to break after a late-night dinner. This could have been a bad situation, but Hector responded almost immediately and made sure we made it home safely and quickly. He also had a new cart ready to go first thing in the morning.
I can't express enough how much we loved our stay and the wonderful experience we had with Sotavento and Hector. We will...
