You rarely find such excellent, nice and hospitable hosts like Daisy and her husband. Daisy gave us a very warm welcome and provided a lot of information on local events, what to do and places where to go and eat. We also received from her a very informative and helpful seasonal tourist magazine about Mérida and surroundings in Spanish and English. Daisy and her husband were always ready to help. The place is centrally located just a few steps from the central boulevard Paseo de Montejo, but in a quiet side street without noise. Just about 10 minutes walk to the city center and 10 minutes in the opposite direction to ADO Montejo, Paseo 60. Our room was next to a small patio that is available for everyone, but for us, it was even more practical just opening the room door into to patio. The room was not very big but for us ok and with everything we needed, equipped with a small fridge, fan, air conditioning, and a wardrobe to put and hang on the clothes. The bed was very comfortable. The room and the private bathroom were very clean. What we especially liked was that the room wasn´t entered by the staff and was only cleaned on request when we asked for it. The same for new towels, toilet paper, etc. This gave us much more privacy and it is much more ecological than daily cleaning and towel change. In the small lobby, there was drinking water available all the time for free use. The whole place is very safe, also at night. We really liked Daisy´s attitude, she always takes care of the guests and makes sure if everything is ok. Daisy and her husband made our stay excellent and next time in Mérida we would...
Read moreThis is by far the nicest 2 Star hotel we’ve ever stayed in! The location is perfection, 1 block off of Paseo Montejo near great restaurants and fun bars. Bike rentals are right around the corner, 50 pesos get you a four hour bike rental on Sunday mornings for BiciMerida. Easy transportation to anywhere via the great bus system in Merida. ||9 nights in the “Balam” room, a suite actually. Giant room, huge walk in closet, bathroom suite with (oddly enough) a bidet. Comfy bed. There is a small, super clean kitchenette for the guests to use with a small refrigerator, 2 burner cooktop, pots, pans, dishes, coffee pot, maybe more that I’m forgetting. Total cost for 9 nights was incredibly cheap, less than $230 USD. For the price, it was outrageously good. We also took advantage of their very reasonable laundry service. ||I looked in some of the other rooms and liked what I saw. They were small, the 2 others upstairs share a bath that is kept neat and clean. The room called “kutz” is small but has a gigantic private balcony! ||There is one gated parking spot that you can reserve in advance for an additional 50 pesos per night, but the street is safe and there is plenty of parking in front. It’s a very quiet neighborhood and we felt extremely safe here. No concerns whatsoever.||This is a 2 Star Hotel. For what we paid, it was tremendous. Location, cleanliness, comfort, we will...
