Hotel Kavia Premium — Hotel in Mérida

When we arrived, we Checked in and were sent to our rooms and amazingly there are no Windows in the rooms. They are like jail cells with no natural light whatsoever. I of course asked to change rooms but they couldn’t or wouldn’t. My friend and I were in seperate rooms, both windowless, decided that we Couldn’t reasonable stay in these rooms. Everyone should know that there is no light in these rooms so stay away from this hotel. I am 66 years old and never in My world wide travels have I come across a bunker like room in a “luxury”, overpriced hotel. We Checked out the next day and there is no effort being made to reimburse us by the property. I believe that prospective Bookers should be warned that there are no windows in the room as almost everyone I know Would be uncomfortable with that. people. I was made to sign the hotel policies which was in Spanish and no English and no staffs could translate what were the policies about. AC in room not working , i have had to clear the filters myself, which seems to have never been cleaned since installation. bathroom flooring not inclined towards water drainage, all water being accumulated on one side of the bathroom. droplets of water is coming from the shower taking ages to bath. Out of the 64 water jets from the shower head, only 12 is projecting water. bathroom not cleaned properly, signs of soap still on wall. small bottle of 50ml of shower gel for 2 adults No welcoming, guests left on their own Lack cleanliness Breakfast...

The good-location is excellent. The bad- when we went into the first room the a/c was off leaving the room very musty smelling. When I woke up and went use the bathroom in the morning the water was turned off. After calling the front desk they turned it back on and this happened every night. Lastly when we showered, the bathroom flooded out into the room. After multiple complaints they changed the room to one that was worse. Now I have to say that the hotel manager did go out of her way to help us but unfortunately her hands were tied.
