Okay, you're wondering how I can give such a beautiful garden only five stars. The answer is... You need to visit at the right time. Although I visited in Spring, it was just past peak season, and most of the flowers had already bloomed and withered. You're probably like, that's your fault. Yes it is, but it underlyes the entire problem with gardens (and zoo's), which is the experience is totally timing bases. The experience is big, which can be expected for CDMX, and also free. 😁 You can add this activity to the long list of wonderfully free things to do in CDMX.

I've been planning a trip here for a while but I wasn't sure if it was worth the trek. It completely is! Even though the layout guides you round the different gardens it feels much more like you're exploring it yourself. The greenhouse is so pretty and the whole space is really well maintained. There's a nice mixture of serious and fun style gardens so has a wide age range appeal. It's also a very quiet spot near a very busy city. I'm looking forward to going back there and taking more time round individual gardens.

Very beautiful botanic garden with various cactus species and orchid green house. It is a part of Chapultepec park that is calm and much less occupied than castle for example. The entrence is free of charge. Also there are no food sellers so there is no shouting which makes thos part of park much more relaxing than other parts. Really enjoyed multiple colors and free passageways.

Small and very well kept botanical garden in Chapultepec Park. It specializes in cacti and has a small orchids greenhouse. Birdlife is also pretty active and varied, so it is worth to bring your binoculars and camera. It is always very quiet and a pleasant place to stroll or sit on a bench and read your book. You may enter from the park or from Reforma and it's free.

It's free to visit and open until 4pm (except Mondays). You should check out when are the free guided tours. During September 2022 they are at 13.30 on Saturdays. Definitely recommend visiting the garden with the tour, you learn so much more about the plants and their use. Also the orchid green house closes at 3 pm so plan accordingly if you also wanna visit it.
